  • Patent number: 4556857
Abstract: A magnetic deflection yoke is designed for use with a three gun 100.degree. in-line cathode ray tube (5) having a gun base no longer than 5.9 mm and achieves self-convergence and four-sided pincushion correction by means of the cathode ray tube and yoke only. The yoke includes a set of segmented saddle-type horizontal deflection coils (8) and a set of toroidal-type vertical deflection coils (4) which are wound on a permeable core (3) surrounding the horizontal deflection coils. An insulating coilform (1) between the horizontal and vertical deflection coils supports the coils and facilitates their mounting to the neck portion of the cathode ray tube envelope. Magnetic field collectors (6) essentially surround the vertical deflection coils and directs the magnetic lines of flux through the cathode ray tube envelope to produce a linear vertical deflection of the cathode ray beam.

  • Patent number: 4117434
Abstract: A hybrid deflection system for a cathode ray tube in which toroidal-type quadripolar correction coils, having areas vacant of any windings within the coils, lie wound in accordance with a Fourier series winding distribution on a split ring magnetic core of the deflection system comprising saddle-type horizontal deflection coils and toroidal-type vertical deflection coils. Selected vacant areas of the quadripolar coils are positioned coincident with breaks in the split ring magnetic core to allow assembly of the core around the saddle-type horizontal deflection coils.

  • Patent number: 4089446
Abstract: A portable water supply and dispensing unit comprises a hydraulic pump having a low-voltage electric motor for operating the pump, both of which are mountable atop a water container, the electric motor being capable of being operated by a storage battery, particularly of the type of battery used in motor vehicles, the water container being provided with a pair of wheels fixed to the underside of the water container which also supports the pump and motor, for manually moving the unit about an area by means of a suitable handle member, the unit has many uses and is especially adapted to the washing of motor vehicles which are out of reach of the general water supply, such as vehicles parked in parking lots of high-rise apartment houses and the like.

  • Patent number: 4073258
Abstract: A control system is provided for water-jet propulsion systems for watercraft which provides for lateral maneuvering of the craft, as in docking operations. Water-jet propulsion systems, such as are used on hydrofoil craft, have two normally-parallel jets directed rearwardly of the craft, with individual means for reversing each jet. The angular direction of the jets is controlled by deflectors for use in steering the craft. In accordance with the invention, lateral movement of the craft is effected by moving the jets oppositely into divergent angular positions and simultaneously reversing the direction of one of the jets. This results in a lateral component of movement with a controllable rate and direction of yaw determined by the angles of the jets.
