  • Publication number: 20240165412
Abstract: Techniques and systems for monitoring cardiac arrhythmias and delivering electrical stimulation therapy using a subcutaneous implantable cardioverter defibrillator (SICD) and a leadless pacing device (LPD) are described. For example, the SICD may detect a tachyarrhythmia within a first electrical signal from a heart and determine, based on the tachyarrhythmia, to deliver anti-tachyarrhythmia shock therapy to the patient to treat the detected arrhythmia. The LPD may receive communication from the SICD requesting the LPD deliver anti-tachycardia pacing to the heart and determine, based on a second electrical signal from the heart sensed by the LPD, whether to deliver anti-tachycardia pacing (ATP) to the heart. In this manner, the SICD and LPD may communicate to coordinate ATP and/or cardioversion/defibrillation therapy. In another example, the LPD may be configured to deliver post-shock pacing after detecting delivery of anti-tachyarrhythmia shock therapy.

  • Patent number: 10842214
Abstract: An extending ornament apparatus may comprise a compressed gas cartridge and a valve having a release mechanism, the valve being connected to the compressed gas cartridge and configured to release compressed gas from the compressed gas cartridge upon activation of the release mechanism. The apparatus may further comprise an inflatable ornament, and the compressed gas cartridge may be configured to inflate the inflatable ornament upon the activation of the release mechanism. The inflatable ornament may be configured to be mounted on an object.

  • Patent number: 9451995
Abstract: The anterior cervical plate includes multiple pairs of holes passing therethrough including at least a pair of caudal holes and a pair of cephalad holes. The caudal holes pass through the anterior cervical plate at a fixed angle extending both in a caudal direction and toward a midline of the anterior cervical plate. The cephalad holes are configured to allow fastening screws to pass at differing angles through the cephalad holes. Windows are provided passing through the plate at locations between the pairs of caudal and cephalad holes. Locking plates are provided which pivotably attach to the plate in positions either covering or exposing the pairs of holes, to assist in keeping fastening screws securely attached to the anterior cervical plate.

  • Patent number: 4790070
Abstract: The wire cutter includes a pair of elastomeric gripping members mounted in the throat of the wire cutter and having closely spaced, opposed, inner faces which extend generally perpendicularly to the cutting plane of the cutting edges and clamp a short segment of wire therebetween as it is clipped from a larger section of wire. The gripping members preferably are made from a polyurethane elastomer and preferably are cast or formed in situ by pouring a liquid mixture of a polyurethane prepolymer and curing agent in the pocket defined by the throat and, in some cases, a mold surrounding the wire cutter jaws.
