Abstract: A device for analyzing spark ignition type engines is disclosed wherein the electrical output from the high voltage side of the engine may be directed in a variety of paths through the device so that the spark of each cylinder jumping a gap provided therein may be viewed singly or in comparison with that of the other cylinders both in running and nonrunning engine conditions. Furthermore individual cylinders may be shorted out to determine the effect of the cylinders performance to the entire engine.
