  • Publication number: 20030082040
Abstract: A small loader has a frame, and drive tracks on opposite sides of the frame. The drive tracks are mounted over drive sprockets and idler wheels to establish lengths of track at upper sides. The frame includes upright members at a rear portion for mounting a lift arm assembly made of two lift arms joined together. Each lift arm has a rear portion pivotally mounted on the upright portion of the frame and extending downwardly and forwardly to join side portions of the lift arms that are substantially parallel to the upper lengths of the respective tracks in a lowered position of the lift arm assembly. Actuators for pivoting the lift arm assembly are mounted on the frame, below the side portions and above the tracks, and extend generally parallel to both the side portions and the upper length of the tracks when the lift arm assembly is in a lowered position.

  • Publication number: 20030079379
Abstract: A lift arm assembly for a small or “mini” loader is pivotally mounted onto a self propelled frame for movement between a raised and a lowered position. In the raised position, a support strut is provided that fits over an extended rod of the lift arm operating cylinder and will prevent the lift arm assembly from lowering. The support strut is stored in a front tubular cross member of the lift arm assembly. Additionally, the front cross member supports an upright strut that acts as a back stop for material in a bucket, by projecting upwardly beyond the bucket top so that if an object in the bucket tends to roll rearwardly, if the bucket is not leveled, it will be intercepted by the upwardly projecting portion of the back stop and deflected laterally.

  • Publication number: 20020094263
Abstract: A walk behind powered apparatus for operating working attachments includes a ground engaging carriage with two endless tracks on opposite sides of the frame. A support frame attached to the carriage includes a pair of rearwardly and upwardly extending side plate members with upper end portions that pivotably support a boom and a controller. The boom is arcuately-shaped and has a working attachment at a forward end. The controller includes linkages which are connected to two drive units which enable independent operation of each endless track. The apparatus also includes at least one selectively positionable counterweight that may be moved relative to the vertical traverse plane passing through the center of gravity of the apparatus to increase the operational parameters of the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 6227620
Abstract: A compact, easily transportable, surface preparation or road mill apparatus which includes a road mill housing or surface treatment unit having a cutter drum powered by its own power source. The apparatus also includes a mounting device for attachment of a working machine, such as the road mill housing, to a land vehicle having a lifting mechanism, preferably of the type provided on “front-end loaders”. The surface treatment unit or road mill housing preferably has an opening for receiving a cylindrical shaft and the mounting device includes an attachment device for attachment to a land vehicle and an interconnected cylindrical shaft upon which the road mill housing can be secured once the shaft is received within the shaft receiving opening.

  • Patent number: 6176551
Abstract: A compact, easily transportable, surface preparation apparatus which includes a surface treatment unit having a cutter drum powered by its own power source. The apparatus includes transport/support wheels and a tow bar preferably interconnected at each end, of the surface treatment unit the rearward connection being a pivotal connection. The surface treatment unit has a longitudinal axis and a transverse axis, with the longitudinal axis perpendicular to the towing direction and the transverse axis coincident with the towing direction. The cutter drum has a rotational axis and is contained within the surface treatment unit and arranged such that the rotational axis is parallel to the longitudinal axis of the surface treatment unit. The cutter drum is off-set relative to the transverse axis of the surface treatment unit such that the cutter drum operates at one end of the surface treatment unit.

  • Patent number: 5509613
Abstract: A materials grinder has a materials receiving hopper, an exit opening into a shrouded grinding chamber and a powered ram for driving materials accumulated in the hopper to and through the exit into the grinding chamber. As grinding drum is rotatably disposed inside of a shroud adjacent the exit of the hopper to grind the ends of materials to be ground as they enter the grinding chamber and to continue to grinding as the materials are carried downwardly toward the bottom rear of the grinding chamber. The bottom of the shroud is open to receive an adjustable transverse shear bar assembly that is pivotally mounted to provide adjustment of the upper edges of the transverse shear bars with respect to the materials grinder drum.

  • Patent number: 5427250
Abstract: The present invention is a barrel screen apparatus comprising an elongate, hollow, cylindrical and rotatable barrel screen cage having a receiving end and a discharge end. A hopper is positioned adjacent to the receiving end of the barrel screen cage and has a pair of augers to convey the material and regulate the rate of feed into the feed end of the barrel screen cage. A concave plate is attached to the support frame and positioned directly below and along the length of the barrel screen cage to catch the screened material through the cage. Spiral flighting is attached to the external periphery of the barrel screen cage to convey the material forwardly on the concave plate towards the front of the apparatus where stripper bars, mounted longitudinally on the periphery, push the material off the side of the apparatus. The material accumulates adjacent to a fold-down apron on the side of the apparatus which facilitates pickup by a front-end loader or other means.

  • Patent number: 5346071
Abstract: The present invention is a vehicle-mounted trommel screening apparatus. A rotating trommel screen cage having an open front and a closed back is mounted on the vehicle so that the open front of the trommel screen cage is at a side of the vehicle and is adjustably tiltable about the vehicle side while the cage rotates. A conveyor is mounted below the trommel screen cage to convey material rearwardly off the end of the trailer. A push plate folds down below the trommel to assist in loading material that has been discharged from the front. Axially extending gussets within the cage provide additional lifting and tumbling action. Material is dumped into the trommel screen cage with the cage tilted back from the open end. The rotation of the cage causes a tumbling action which simultaneously breaks up larger pieces of material and screens smaller material to the conveyor below the screen. Material retained in the trommel screen may be dumped by tilting the trommel screen cage forward toward the open end.
