  • Publication number: 20110185040
Abstract: A communication system includes a wireless device and a computer server that is in communication with the wireless device. The computer server is adapted to receive at least one parameter associated with the wireless device and to select at least one template that is optimized to be run on the wireless device. The template is transmitted to the wireless device. A method of selecting a template when a user control location change has occurred is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20100131617
Abstract: Because of restricted communications bandwidth and storage, mobile terminals and devices often suffer reduced Quality of Service (QoS) or delays when displaying data or forms associated with web pages or applications that depend on remote data. A method is disclosed for transmitting data as structured collections of objects that can be compared with internal cache collections such that only changed data needs to be transmitted. The structure that represents the data objects is the only component that must be transmitted, resulting in significant reduction of both the data to be transmitted and the number of connections that must be established with the remote server. This results in significantly reduced network and processing overhead, reduced connections, and higher QoS for the mobile application.

  • Publication number: 20100124939
Abstract: Methods for scaling graphical constructs comprised of graphical images, text, and photographic images are disclosed. In mobile devices, each device could have different screen resolution, orientation, and color palette capabilities. When a graphical page, such as a greeting card, is sent from a sender device to a recipient device, a server determines the display characteristics of the recipient device and delivers either a pre-computed graphics page corresponding to the device's display requirements or generates the proper display on the fly. Additional information, such as location or images from the sender device can be uploaded to the server to be properly scaled and positioned to complete the graphical page in a context tailored to the recipient.

  • Publication number: 20100057938
Abstract: A communication system includes a wireless communication device that is adapted to send and receive data associated with at least one application. A computer server is in communication with the wireless communication device. The computer server is adapted to determine a new set of data requested by the wireless communication device and to compare the new set of data to a previously transmitted set of data. A reduced set of data is generated. The reduced set of data comprises at least a portion of the new set of data not previously transmitted. The reduced set of data is transmitted to the wireless communication device. A method of generating a reduced or sparse data object is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20100056127
Abstract: A communication system includes a wireless device and a computer server that is in communication with the wireless device. The computer server is adapted to receive at least one parameter associated with the wireless device and to select at least one widget that is optimized to be run on the wireless device. The widget is transmitted to the wireless device. A method of selecting a widget that is best suited for a mobile device platform is also disclosed.
