Abstract: Methods and apparatus for processing group images for distribution are described. Images corresponding to a group may be and sometimes are modified differently prior to being supplied to members of the group than when being supplied to entities which are not members of the group to which the image corresponds. Images of group members maybe and sometimes are replaced. Group members can provide an image to be used in the replacement process so that multiple group images which include a similar user determined image of the individual. This can make it appear that the same individual is present in multiple different group images while still not providing visual details of the actual individual in the group images.

Abstract: An acoustic telemetry unit comprising an acoustic receiver for receiving acoustic telemetry signals is disclosed. The acoustic telemetry unit comprises a filter for filtering signals received by the acoustic receiver, a processor for processing signals passed by the filter to recover a data signal, the processor being operable in a sleep mode, and means for waking the processor from the sleep mode in dependence on an output of the filter. An energy storage module may be charged using signals received by the acoustic receiver which are not passed by the filter. The disclosed techniques may help to conserve battery power.

Abstract: A protected covering for displays used in outdoor environments is provided. Particularly, the protective covering may be provided over a display screen of a delivery locker system. The protective covering may protect the display screen from overheating from sun rays and other heat sources that may exist in an external environment. The protective covering may be configured to be moved between a first position in which the protective covering is covering the display screen and a second position in which the protective covering is not covering the display screen. This allows the protective covering to protect the display screen when not in use but also allow a user to move the protective covering to access the display screen when needed. The protective covering may also include magnets to secure the protective covering to the delivery locker system in the first position or the second position.

Abstract: A charge control system includes a lithium battery configured to provide lithium battery power to a set of electrical loads, a user signaling device, and control circuitry coupled with the lithium battery and the user signaling device. The control circuitry is operative to: (A) detect availability of charge from an external charger, (B) in response to detection of the availability of charge from the external charger and prior to controlling the external charger to adjust the amount of charge stored by the lithium battery, perform a set of pre-charging assessment operations, and (C) based on the set of pre-charging assessment operations, provide a user notification via the user signaling device, the user notification indicating whether the lithium battery is properly setup for charge adjustment. When the user signaling device generates the user notification, the user is informed that the utility vehicle is properly connected to the external charger.

The content management system can receive user credentials or an elevated access token from the first device. The content management system can respond to the first device with an access token for use by the second device. Alternatively, the content management system can send the access token directly to the second device. The second device can then use the access token for authenticated communications with the content management system.

The implosion shield may be wrapped or formed as an envelope or tent including one piece and folded around the implosion sleeve or dead-end and secured with fasteners. A method of installing the implosion cover may include installing an implosion sleeve or dead-end on a power line, and then installing the implosion shield around the implosion sleeve or dead-end, by wrapping the implosion shield around the implosion sleeve or dead-end, or by securing an envelope implosion shield over the implosion sleeve or dead-end, or by draping the shield over the implosion sleeve or dead-end, or by mounting the shield on a frame over the implosion sleeve or dead-end, then detonating the implosion sleeve or dead-end. The implosion shield attenuates shock, pressure and sound waves from the detonation.

Abstract: A landing gear for an aircraft includes a landing strut having proximal and distal ends with the proximal end couplable to the fuselage of the aircraft. The landing strut includes a gas chamber, a liquid chamber, a cylinder and a piston that is movable relative to the cylinder between extended and retracted positions. A wheel is coupled to the distal end of the landing strut. A force sensor is disposed between an extend stop surface of the piston and the chamber. Pressurized gas in the gas chamber biases the piston to the extended position such that the force sensor experiences a preload force. The force sensor is configured to detect a reduction in the preload force during a landing maneuver responsive to contact between the wheel and a landing surface.

The method includes a measurement phase, measuring the volume of gas in the container by changing a first parameter of the gas by a known amount. The method also includes measuring a change in a second parameter of the gas; calculating the volume of gas in the container using the measured change and a predetermined operation equation; and determining the volume of liquid in the container based on the calculation.

Such techniques further involve, after operating the motor controller in the normal operating mode, operating the motor controller in a walkaway mode in which the motor controller configures the electric motor to provide braking torque.

The ground clamp mounts on the end of a hot stick to provide for electrically insulated remote operation of the ground clamp by a lineman holding the hot stick and pulling on, or releasing, a lever arm on the hot stick. The system provides increased safety for the lineman as the spring providing the spring loading of the clamp has a high spring force to overcome, thus providing the lockout. The lever arm on the hot stick tool provides mechanical advantage to overcome the spring force and thus release the lockout. The lineman cannot usefully operate the ground clamp manually without the hot stick due to spring force lockout.
