  • Publication number: 20200311793
Abstract: A behavioral model defining a current behavior of a consumer in a retail store is generated by a computer based on digital images of the consumer captured in the retail store. The computer then analyzes the generated behavioral model relative to one or more baseline behavioral models, which consider the consumer's specific location within the store, and, based on the results of that analysis, predicts whether the consumer requires assistance. Additionally, the computer implements a learning process that allows it to determine whether the prediction was incorrect, and if so, to update the associated baseline behavioral models.

  • Publication number: 20200242650
Abstract: Systems and methods for prompting users about purchase items based on likelihood of purchase of items are disclosed. According to an aspect, a method may be implemented at a system for conducting purchase transactions. The method includes identifying items selected for purchase. Further, the method includes determining a likelihood of purchase of an item together with one or more of the other items. The method also includes presenting identification of the item based on the determined likelihood of purchase of the item. Further, this method may include updating a model or rules based on shopper feedback as to whether a particular item was correctly identified as an undesired item.

  • Publication number: 20180112280
Abstract: This invention relates to polynucleotide sequences encoding a gene that can confer resistance to the plant pathogen Colletotrichum, which causes anthracnose stalk rot, leaf blight and top dieback in corn and other cereals. It further relates to plants and seeds of plants carrying chimeric genes comprising said polynucleotide sequences, which enhance or confer resistance to the plant pathogen Colletotrichum, and processes of making said plants and seeds. The invention further presents sequences that can be used as molecular markers that in turn can be used to identify the region of interest in corn lines resulting from new crosses and to quickly and efficiently introgress the gene from corn lines carrying said gene into other corn lines that do not carry said gene, in order to make them resistant to Colletotrichum and resistant to stalk rot.

  • Patent number: 5877008
Abstract: An electromechanical device for driving the tip of a microinjection cannula, or needle, through the outer barrier of a blastocyst, cell, or cell nucleus for the injection of cells or other bioactive materials. Either a flexible frame or a ram moving within a base member is employed. Cannula motion is achieved by means of a piezoelectric stack and spring return system. The thrust motion over a predetermined microscopic distance is achieved without cannula setback prior to the thrust movement. Instead of specially prepared beveled and tipped needles, standard unimproved cannulas or needles can be used.

  • Patent number: 5435972
Abstract: A control loop and fluidization quality analyzer for a fluidized bed utilizes time varying pressure drop measurements. A fast-response pressure transducer measures the overall bed pressure drop, or over some segment of the bed, and the pressure drop signal is processed to produce an output voltage which changes with the degree of fluidization turbulence.
