Publication number: 20160182925Abstract: The specification and drawings present a new method, apparatus and software related product (e.g., a computer readable memory or storage device) for a session-based encryption (e.g., a common-tier encryption) for delivering a content (e.g., video, data, multi-media content and the like) on demand using multiple encryptors. According to an embodiment, the STB's request for a VOD session may be routed by a session resource manager (SRM) to receive content from an appropriate encryptor chosen from multiple encryptors based on a predefined criteria. This approach can minimize a number of encryptions/encrytpion devices (such as ECM generators) needed in a cable network. However, the simulcrypt encryptor can be also used, if necessary, e.g., when CAS-only encryptors are fully loaded with a traffic.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 18, 2014Publication date: June 23, 2016Applicant: CHARTER COMMUNICATIONS OPERATING, LLCInventor: James Herbert Alexander

Patent number: 9345412Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein for analyzing neural response data that can be assigned to multiple classes. The systems and methods begin with a set of training data from which optimal weight factors are derived. The derived weight factors are used in a classifier which is then applied to test data from test subjects. The classifier filters out the effects of less relevant data in the test data and provides a result in the form of probabilities associated with classes for the test data.Type: GrantFiled: October 2, 2012Date of Patent: May 24, 2016Assignee: Leidos, Inc.Inventor: James Herbert Horne

Patent number: 9266498Abstract: A seatbelt restraint system includes a seatbelt buckle housing having a printed circuit board, a slider, and an ejector. The printed circuit board includes a circuit where the output signal can be altered in response to translation of the ejector and the slider. A predetermined voltage can be applied to the circuit and the output signal can be detected in the circuit to determine the position of the ejector and the slider based on the detected altered output signal. In the event of a fault in the system, the resultant output signal of the circuit will be different than the expected output signal of the buckled and unbuckled states.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 2013Date of Patent: February 23, 2016Assignee: AUTOLIV ASP, INC.Inventors: Kevin Joseph Dewey, Thomas James Herbert, Jan Pontus Söderström

Patent number: 9102031Abstract: An apparatus for sharpening blades, such as those used for mowing. A rotary grinder is mounted within an extensible, retractable, and rotatable support assembly. Lockable, rotational adjustment of the position of the grinder about three axes, and translational movement along one axis is thereby provided. A spring attached to one end of the assembly counter-balances the weight of the grinder. An adjacent blade holding fixture maintains the workpiece at a predetermined angle for grinding. A toggle clamp, edge alignment keepers, and a registration pin secure the blade in place. An adapter fixture, including a toggle clamp and an alignment recess, attaches to one end of the blade holding fixture. The adapter fixture has an angled shelf to orient and secure smaller, contoured blades requiring a different edge grinding angle. Once the support assembly is adjustably secured, the grinder is moved along the cutting edge of the blade for sharpening.Type: GrantFiled: August 15, 2013Date of Patent: August 11, 2015Inventor: James Herbert Page
