  • Patent number: 7023877
Abstract: An apparatus for multiplexing a digital data input into DSL outputs is disclosed. In one disclosed aspect, the apparatus may be embodied in an enclosure having a height of one rack-unit. The apparatus may include a transceiver for providing connectivity to a digital data line providing 24 DS0 channels. The apparatus may also include at least one DSL transceiver for multiplexing DS0 channels onto corresponding DSL-compatible transmission media using DSL technology. The apparatus may be mounted within a remote terminal (RT), and may receive the digital data line from within the RT.

  • Patent number: 7020189
Abstract: Method and system for implementing digital filters in the data path of a Pulse Code Modulated (PCM) modem to allow efficient transition of a second analog to digital conversion process in a communication system including monitoring the upstream data path of the communication system to decode the V.34 portion of the data transmission which occurs during the handshake phase of the modem call, where the information contained in the upstream data channel during the handshake phase allows the communication system to determine the manner in which the PCM modem is training and transmitting data to the client modem.

  • Patent number: 6885698
Abstract: Method and apparatus for providing an improved quality voice band channel equalization in telecommunication systems employing v.90 transmission standard in which PCM modem signals passing through a digital-to-analog and analog-to-digital conversion processes between a central office switch and a multiple subscriber access system may be reconstructed with improved quality at the A/D converter side by variably adjusting the gain between the digital-to-analog conversion process at the central office switch and the analog-to-digital conversion process at the multiple subscriber access system, and low pass filtering the signal using a second order low pass notch filter to provide a boost of 6 dB at a frequency of 4 KHz.

  • Publication number: 20020185140
Abstract: A light weight, manually powdered device used for weighing a precise quantity of tobacco then forming the tobacco into a cylindrical shape three inches in length with an adjustable diameter feature, then wrapping the tobacco with a lightweight paper and sealing the shape with a water activated cellulose glue. The first stage consists of weighing and placing a precise quantity of tobacco into the nip of apron between the forming roller and convex forming table. In stage two using the base as the starting point the handle is moved approximately 65 degrees forming the tobacco in to a cylindrical shape and a lightweight paper, with a glued end placed opposite the nip facing up, is inserted in the nip. In stage three the adhesive is activated with water and the handle is moved approximately 145 degrees and kept in this position for 5 seconds wrapping and sealing the tobacco. In stage four the handle is moved 175 degrees and the finished product is ejected.
