  • Patent number: 12357319
Abstract: Apparatus and methods are provided for closing a tubular structure within a patient's body. The apparatus includes a needle including a proximal end including a hub, a distal end including a sharpened distal tip, a lumen having an oblong cross-section extending proximally from the distal end, and defining a longitudinal axis between the proximal and distal ends, and a clip deliverable from the lumen. The clip is compressible between a relaxed state in which a plurality of tines of the clip are shaped to engage and close a tubular structure within a patient's body, and a stressed state in which the tines are compressed to allow the clip to be loaded into the. The apparatus may also include a pusher member for deploying the clip from the distal tip of the needle such that the tines engage and close a tubular structure through which the tubular member is directed.

  • Publication number: 20250169823
Abstract: Apparatus and methods are provided for closing a tubular structure within a patient's body, e.g., a varicose vein. In one example, the apparatus includes an outer member including a cannula and an inner member carrying a pusher member slidably received within a lumen of the cannula. The cannula is inserted into the patient's body into-and-through the vein, the cannula carrying a clip within the lumen including proximal and distal tines in a stressed state and a filament coupled to one of the proximal tines. The inner member is advanced relative to the outer member to advance the pusher member to expose the distal tines from the distal tip beyond the tubular structure, whereupon the distal tines elastically deform towards a relaxed state at least partially around the tubular structure.

  • Patent number: 12213898
Abstract: A self-sealing tubular graft is provided for implantation within a patient's body that includes an elongate tubular body including first and second self-sealing cannulation regions and a loop region extending between the first and second cannulation regions. The loop region includes one or more reinforcement members attached to a first length of the loop region and extending at least partially around a circumference of the tubular body. For example, the reinforcement members may include one or more sinusoidal or zigzag members extending along the first length with alternating peaks and valleys extending at least partially around a circumference of the tubular body. Self-sealing patches are also provided that include one or more reinforcement members embedded within base material.

  • Patent number: 11826029
Abstract: A self-closing device for implantation within a patient's body includes base material including an inner surface area for securing the base material to a tissue structure, and a plurality of support elements surrounding or embedded in the base material. The support elements are separable laterally within a plane of the base material to accommodate creating an opening through the base material for receiving one or more instruments through the base material, and biased to return laterally towards a relaxed state for self-closing the opening after removing the one or more instruments. The device may be provided as a patch or integrally attached to a tubular graft or in various shapes.
