Abstract: A method for providing an out of box experience (OOBE) which includes providing an OOBE module and an OOBE variables file, providing OOBE options to the OOBE module via the OOBE variables file, customizing the out of box experience via the OOBE options in the OOBE variables file, and presenting the out of box experience via the OOBE module is disclosed.

Abstract: A system for post factory dynamic application selection which includes an after point of sale configuration manager client module stored on a customer information handling system, a software determination module, and a download module is disclosed. The after point of sale configuration management client module enables the customer information handling system to access a manufacturer server. Based upon customer information, the software determination module determines which software to provide to the customer information handling system. Based upon the determination, the download module downloads software to the customer information handling system.

Abstract: A method of improving a content download experience for an information handling system is disclosed. The method includes storing content locally onto the storage of an information handling system when the information handling system is manufactured and checking the locally stored content prior to attempting to download content when accessing the content.

Abstract: An apparatus for preconfiguring an information handling system which includes means for configuring a system with options selected according to user input wherein the options includes at least one renewable component, means for enabling a customer to indicate authorization to automatically renew the renewable component, and a database that receives information from and supplies information to the configurator and the automatic renewal module is disclosed.

Abstract: A file association recommendation function which when a user tries to execute a certain type of file such a multimedia file (e.g., a MP3 type file or JPG type file) for which there is no file association, a file association recommendation module is invoked that presents application recommendations to the user. The recommendation module will provide a user with a list of applications that may be associated with a particular type of file as well as a recommended application for the association. The recommendation module the queries the user to associate the MP3, JPG or multimedia content with one of the applications from the list of applications. The applications are pre-installed on the system. Based on the user's choice, the file association recommendation module sets that application as the default application for the certain type of file (e.g., Yahoo Music as default for playing MP3 for the user).

Abstract: A system and method for real time dissemination of information is provided. One server receives and data bases the information while another server disseminates the information; instead of one server receiving the information, data basing the information, and dissemination the information to all users requesting the information.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for production of stator windings for dynamoelectric mechines of different configurations is provided. The windings are preferably formed on a bobbin (10) or similar article, which may then be transferred onto an appropriate carrier such as a ferromagnetic core (24). The core (24) may be provided as a substantial linear article and then be bent into an appropriate shape, so that the assembly may be provided as the stator of a dynamoelectric machine. In this configuration, only a portion of each winding will face the magnetic poles of the rotor and thus be operative, as the return path of the windings will not be used. However, the invention as disclosed also shows it is possible to build a drum rotor (39) with both external and internal rotors in order to make use of both portions of the windings on the ferromagnetic core (24).

Abstract: An auxilary handle device for use with conventional handheld screwdrivers for applying additional torque and reducing muscle strain. The device includes a handle portion designed for being grasped by a human hand, and a coupling portion. The coupling portion selectively receives a handle of a conventional screwdriver. The coupling portion is operationally coupled to the handle portion such that rotation of the handle portion in a first direction imparts rotation in the first direction to the coupling portion and to the conventional screwdriver in turn. The coupling portion further comprises a cylindrical perimeter wall forming a cavity portion. The cavity portion slideably receives a portion of the handle of the conventional screwdriver. The coupling portion may further include a retaining means. The retaining means selectively secures the portion of the handle of the conventional screwdriver to the coupling portion.

Abstract: A sensing apparatus consisting of more than one diode laser having select lasing frequencies, a multiplexer optically coupled to the outputs of the diode lasers with the multiplexer being further optically coupled to a pitch side optical fiber. Multiplexed laser light is transmitted through the pitch side optical fiber to a pitch optic operatively associated with a process chamber which may be a combustion chamber or the boiler of a coal or gas fired power plant. The pitch optic is oriented to project multiplexed laser output through the process chamber. Also operatively oriented with the process chamber is a catch optic in optical communication with the pitch optic to receive the multiplexed laser output projected through the process chamber. The catch optic is optically coupled to an optical fiber which transmits the multiplexed laser output to a demultiplexer.

Abstract: A method for setting file associations during a factory installation process which includes determining an application that is installed onto an information handling system, setting a file association default that sets file association policies within a file association file, accessing the file association file to determine an appropriate file association, and associating files with the application based upon the file association policies is disclosed.

Abstract: A method for automating the posting of content to an online service provider which includes configuring an email account to which content is posted, receiving an email from a user containing content via a predefined email address, determining a user account based upon information contained within the email, and posting the content to the user account.

Abstract: A method for enabling services on a fixed image platform which includes installing a fixed image onto an information handling system, installing a key creation utility onto the information handling system, during initial power on of the information handling system executing the key creation utility to create a key, and using the key to activate a service. The information handling system includes a unique system identifier.

Abstract: A system for tracking after point of sale related sales for peripherals which includes an access module for accessing a customer computer system which includes a supplier specific unique identifier, a decision module, and an offer module. The decision module determines whether the customer computer system includes a supplier specific unique identifier. The offer module presents a factory installed offer if the customer computer system includes a supplier specific unique identifier and presents a non supplier offer if the customer computer system does not include a supplier specific unique identifier.

Abstract: Polyester carpets of poly(trimethylene terephthalate) are disclosed which have excellent stain-resistance, texture retention and resistance to crushing. The bulked continuous filament yarn used to make the carpets and the process for making the yarns are also disclosed.

Abstract: The invention includes a mechanical scanning feed and a spherical lens antenna system. The mechanical feed includes a waveguide, which has a movable wall assembly that contains a guide slot. The moveable wall portion also includes an end wall that is located proximate to the guide slot to prevent leakage of the propagating energy out of the waveguide. The mechanical feed also includes a drive mechanism, which moves the moveable wall assembly along the waveguide in a direction that is parallel to the direction of propagation of the energy. This allows the guide slot to be positioned at any elevation angle to allow a portion of the propagating energy to exit through the guide slot. This in combination with the waveguide being able to be rotated 360 degrees about the spherical lens provides the antenna system with nearly spherical coverage.

Abstract: A system for customizing support of an information handling system which includes an order determination module and a support customization module. The order determination module determines items ordered by a customer at a point of sale of the information handling system. The support customization module customizes support information presented on the information handling system based upon the items ordered by the customer.

Abstract: A system for prequalifying an information handling system which includes a configurator, an after point of sale prequalification module and a prequalification information store module. The configurator configures a system with options selected according to user input. The after point of sale prequalification module obtains prequalification information relating to whether an ordered information handling system corresponds to prequalification criteria. The prequalification information store module stores the prequalification information relating to the ordered information handling system.

Abstract: A continuous process for the production of poly(trimethylene terephthalate) is disclosed. According to the process, a liquid feed mixture comprising bis-3-hydroxypropyl terephthalate and/or low molecular weight polyesters of 1,3-propanediol and terephthalic acid, the liquid feed mixture having a mole ratio of propylene groups to terephthalate groups of 1.1 to 2.2 is fed to a flasher. A first stream of gaseous by-products is continuously vaporized and removed from the flasher, and a liquid flasher reaction product having a mole ratio of propylene groups to terephthalate groups of less than about 1.5 is continuously withdrawn from the flasher. The liquid flasher reaction product is continuously fed to a prepolymerizer where it is continuously polymerized to form a poly(trimethylene terephthalate) prepolymer and a second stream of gaseous by-products.

Abstract: A system which dynamically generates a list of applications on an individual machine that a firewall application should enable access to the internet by default is provided. The list is generated via registering applications during factory installation. Firewall applications scan this list of registered applications during the installation or setup of the firewall application and add all applications in the list to the list of default trusted applications.
