  • Publication number: 20020034186
Abstract: A system and method of dynamic routing is provided. When a connection cannot be built, execute the follows. (a) A sending-host transports messages to destination-host. If connection built, the method ends, otherwise go to step (b). (b) Find a series of routers, and put IP-addresses of routers into a list. (c) Judge whether list includes at least one IP-address; if yes, go to step (d), otherwise step (i). (d) A pointer points to the last. (e) Find a domain of IP-address pointed. (f) If a message-routing-in-charge host is found, go to step (g), otherwise step (h). (g) The sending-host transports messages to message-routing-in-charge host, and go to step (a). (h) If IP-address pointed is the first one, go to step (i), otherwise step (j). (i) The sending-host keeps messages for a period, and go to step (a). (j) Move pointer to point to the previous, and go to step (e).

  • Patent number: 6080472
Abstract: To provide a porous polytetrafluoroethylene sheet which has excellent cold flow resistance and is used suitably for gaskets and a highly densified polytetrafluoroethylene sheet which has high tensile strength and flex life and is used suitably for diaphragms. The porous polytetrafluoroethylene sheet is produced from a polytetrafluoroethylene material having a microstructure of nodes interconnected by fibrils and has MTS of from 3,000 to 12,000 psi and C.I. of 0.02 to 0.20 g/cc/psi. The highly densified polytetrafluoroethylene sheet is produced by compression-molding the porous polytetrafluoroethylene sheet and then sintering completely. The porous polytetrafluoroethylene sheet is also laminated with a sheet of other material to provide a composite polytetrafluoroethylene molded article.

  • Patent number: 5942253
Abstract: Formulations for controlled, prolonged release of GM-CSF have been developed. These are based on solid microparticles formed of the combination of biodegradable, synthetic polymers such as poly(lactic acid) (PLA), poly(glycolic acid) (PGA), and copolymers thereof with excipients and drug loadings that yield zero order or first order release, or multiphasic release over a period of approximately three to twenty one days, preferably one week, when administered by injection. In the preferred embodiment, the microparticles are microspheres having diameters in the range of 10 to 60 microns, formed of a blend of PLGA having different molecular weights, most preferably 6,000, 30,000 and 41,000. Other embodiments have been developed to alter the release kinetics or the manner in which the drug is distributed in vivo.

  • Patent number: 5930260
Abstract: A terminal adapter for ISDN services is implemented using a digital signal processor rather that a general purpose microprocessor, and provides normal terminal adapter functionally while at the same time substantially reducing part count and increasing flexibility and reliability. The terminal adapter uses a pipelined operating system involving a series of hierarchical menus of subtasks to perform the various functions required for ISDN operability.

  • Patent number: 5860741
Abstract: An absolute radiation thermometer capable of evaluating the absolute value of infrared radiation power emitted from a target and received by a radiation sensor by means of electrical calibration, and calculating the temperature of the target basing on the responsive signal generated in the radiation sensor. To solve "Microphonic" problem, two identical sensors connected in parallel with the polarized orientations of their pyroelectric layers being in opposite directions so as to cancel the piezoelectric signals generated in the two sensors are used. Further, by using a floating power supply, which is isolated from the system power supply of the thermometer, for performing electrical heating, power supply noise can be greatly reduced.

  • Patent number: 5831820
Abstract: A peripheral docketing module using a shape memory alloy actuator wire includes a shape memory alloy actuator wire controllably connected to an energy source; and a pivoting device mounted inside a system frame member architecturally positioned for occupying inside the system frame member together with a device docketed within the system frame member. Upon application of energy to the shape memory alloy actuator wire, the shape memory alloy actuator wire contracts and exerts a pulling force on the pivoting device. The result is that the pivoting device pushes and ejects the docketed device seated inside the system frame member. The employment of a shape memory alloy actuator wire replaces the employments of a solenoid and electrical motor and allows for a more compact design of an electronic system.

  • Patent number: 5820264
Abstract: A waveguide for tympanic thermometer formed by an elongate hollow member having substantially ellipsoidal shape truncated at both ends along its major axis direction. The waveguide is interposed between a tympanic membrane of which the temperature is to be measured and an infrared radiation sensor so as to guide the infrared radiation from the tympanic membrane to the sensor. Alternatively, the waveguide may also be a hollow member including an end portion having a gradually reduced inner diameter toward the side of sensor. The gradually reduced end portion is preferably of a truncated half ellipsoidal shape having a length between about 1/10 to about 1/3 of the distance from the sensor to the distal end of the waveguide.
