Publication number: 20190121799Abstract: A computer-implemented method is disclosed that comprises receiving, at a data provider computing system, a data contribution from a client device associated with a user, and based on the received data contribution, determining a user identifier that uniquely identifies the user. The method comprises performing a data validation operation to validate the data contribution. The method comprises, based on validating the data contribution, storing the data contribution in association with the user identifier. Further, the method comprises receiving a data request from a data consuming system. Based on the data request, the stored data contribution is identified and distributed to the data consuming system. Based on distribution of the data contribution to the data consuming system, a distribution value associated with the data contribution is generated. An indication of the distribution value is stored in association with the user identifier.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 24, 2018Publication date: April 25, 2019Inventors: David James Hubbard, Craig Allen Mataczynski

Publication number: 20170136770Abstract: A droplet deposition apparatus, such as an inkjet printhead, is disclosed. The apparatus includes an array of fluid chambers, where each chamber has a nozzle and a piezoelectric actuator element that causes droplets to be released on-demand from the nozzle in an ejection direction. The array of chambers extends in an array direction, which is perpendicular to the ejection direction. The apparatus also includes a common inlet manifold, which supplies fluid to the array of chambers, and may also include a common outlet manifold, which receives fluid from the array of chambers; both the inlet manifold and, where present, the outlet manifold are elongate in the array direction and extend the length of the array of chambers. The apparatus also includes a flow restrictor passage, which extends the length of the array of chambers in the array direction.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 2, 2015Publication date: May 18, 2017Inventors: Simon James Hubbard, Christopher James Gosling

Patent number: 8700216Abstract: A steering robot for attachment to a vehicle's steering wheel has its own steering wheel attached to a rotor of an annular motor. The latter has a stator. Fitted to the forward (in use) side of rotor is an annular mounting plate, having three tabs extending slightly inwards for receiving mounting bolts. A clamp formed of a ring having equally spaced around it three slotted radial lugs. The lugs provide attachments for three clamping fixtures, by means of which the clamp can be attached temporarily to the vehicle's steering wheel. The stator has a pair of torque reaction lugs via which steering torque exerted by the motor to effect a steering maneuver under test or investigation can be reacted. The steering robot is open-centered, whereby steering wheel mounted controls can be operated normally.Type: GrantFiled: June 21, 2010Date of Patent: April 15, 2014Assignee: Anthony Best Dynamics LimitedInventors: Anthony Best, Stephen John Neads, Mathew James Hubbard

Patent number: 8620885Abstract: Many public utilities companies employ meter data management systems (MDMSs) to manage the millions and sometimes billions of daily and interval meter read values that they collect during a single billing period. One problem with some MDMSs estimate missing daily reads based on average daily usage and these estimates do not match daily usage values determined from interval read data, causing sum check exceptions. Such exceptions are undesirable because they can lead to billing errors and lost consumer confidence in the utility, among other things. To address this, the present inventors devised an exemplary system that uses good and estimated interval read data to more accurately estimate the missing daily reads and thereby reduce occurrences of sum check exceptions. The exemplary system also estimates missing time of use and demand data based on interval read data.Type: GrantFiled: February 16, 2010Date of Patent: December 31, 2013Assignee: Ecologic Analytics, LLCInventors: Anil Kumar Gupta, David James Hubbard, Jerome Frank Winzig

Publication number: 20110240410Abstract: An elevator machine (10) includes a motor (12) that rotationally drives a machine shaft (14). An elevator machine brake (20) applies braking force to a disk (22) that is coupled to the machine shaft (14) to slow or stop the rotation of the machine shaft (14). In one example, the elevator machine brake (20) includes a bias member (38) that applies a bias force to a caliper arrangement (32) to provide a braking force on the disk (22). A brake actuator (48) having a shape-changing material moves against the bias force to control engagement between the caliper arrangement (32) and the disk (22). A controller (26) selectively varies the braking force applied to the disk (22) by controlling an electric input to the shape-changing material of the brake actuator (48).Type: ApplicationFiled: February 25, 2005Publication date: October 6, 2011Inventors: Rodolfo Robledo Barrio, Gianfranco Giannini, Jurgen Gewinner, Zbigniew Piech, James Hubbard, Muhammad Jehanzeb Noor
