  • Publication number: 20050123701
Abstract: An elongated structural member that includes a plastic sleeve surrounding a filler composite material. The filler composite material includes ground rubber particles and a binder, wherein the granular particle size for the ground rubber particles ranges from 0.125 inches to 0.5 inches. When the binder is a concrete binder, ten to twenty percent by volume of the filler composite material is the concrete binder and eighty to ninety percent by volume of the filler composite material is the ground rubber particles. Moreover, when the binder is a resin binder, ten percent by volume of the filler composite material is the resin binder and ninety percent by volume of the filler composite material is the ground rubber particles.

  • Patent number: 5070575
Abstract: A sliding door suspension system and a sliding door assembly for supporting a heavy sliding door from a door frame includes a rail horizontally mounted to the door frame. The suspension system includes a roller assembly which rollingly engages the rail and supports the heavy door. The roller assembly includes an axle or shaft having a bearing surface. The axle has at least one threaded end for securing the roller assembly and for attaching the roller assembly to a door hanger from which the heavy door is suspended. The roller assembly further includes a roller with a concentric hollow bore for seating a bearing assembly or bushing through which the axle extends in supportive engagement with the bearing assembly. The rail has a convex arcuate upper roller guide surface. The roller has a concave arcuate roller guide engaging surface which conforms to and engages the upper surface of the rail. The roller assembly also includes a door height and alignment adjusting member which threadably engages the axle.

  • Patent number: 4096918
Abstract: A metallurgical tilting vat, such as a steel mill converter, which, by means of vat extensions or projections, rests on a surrounding tilting mechanism, so that it can be tilted 360.degree., and where radial and axial heat expansion and contractions are accommodated. The tilting mechanism is equipped with dynamic test cells for weighing the vat and/or vat contents. This type of metallurgical tilting vat equipped with weighing devices serves to ascertain the vat contents in order to observe the steel production process based on differing weights of the vat contents, and, in turn, to regulate the decarbonization process based on the weight data and/or data graphs thus obtained.
