Abstract: A new tool handle for providing an improved grip and improved control and accuracy for use with striking tools such as hammers of various types as well as multipurpose tools such as hatchets. The inventive device includes a shaft, a thumb ramp, and a finger shield fixedly attached to the shaft. The thumb ramp provides for improved accuracy and control of the tool during use by allowing the thumb to help guide the handle. The finger shield serves to protect the knuckles and outer surface of the hand from abrasive injury during use. The finger shield also serves to physically restrain the tool in event of a loss of grip during use.
