  • Patent number: 11944130
Abstract: A vaporizer device includes various modular components. The vaporizer device includes a first subassembly. The first subassembly includes a cartridge connector that secures a vaporizer cartridge to the vaporizer device and includes at least two receptacle contacts that electrically communicate with the vaporizer cartridge. The vaporizer device includes a second subassembly. The second subassembly includes a skeleton defining a rigid tray that retains at least a power source. The vaporizer device also includes a third subassembly. The third subassembly includes a plurality of charging contacts that supply power to the power source, and an end cap that encloses an end of the vaporizer device.

  • Publication number: 20110180587
Abstract: A friction stir welding tool is provided, wherein the tool includes a body; a neck formed integrally with the body, wherein the outer diameter of the neck is less than the outer diameter of the body; and a frustoconical probe formed integrally with the neck, wherein the probe further includes a base and a tip, wherein the outer diameter of the tip is less than the outer diameter of the base, wherein the outer diameter of the base is less than the outer diameter of the neck, wherein the outer edge of the base and the outer edge of the neck define a shoulder region therebetween, and wherein the ratio of the outer diameter of the neck and the outer diameter of the base is within the range of about 1.5:1 to 1.25:1 or less.

  • Patent number: 7416102
Abstract: A method of friction stir welding and a non-consumable multi-section faced retractable shoulderless variable penetration friction stir welding tool. The tool includes a substantially cylindrical body portion, a head portion, and a tip section, each integral to the tool. The body portion has a longitudinal axis about which it is rotable, a diameter, a sidewall substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis, a proximal end, and a distal end. The head portion is located at the distal end of the body portion. The head portion includes a multi-section face, having a first face section and a second face section, that converges to the tip section. The tool is retractable, reduces overheating, improves weld quality by reducing internal voids and lack of fusion, and facilitates variable penetration welds.

The body portion has a longitudinal axis about which it is rotable, a diameter, a sidewall substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis, a proximal end, and a distal end. The head portion is located at the distal end of the body portion. The head portion has a base with a diameter substantially equal to the diameter of the body portion thereby forming a smooth transition between the body portion and the head portion, thus the tool has no shoulder. The head portion includes a face that converges to the tip section. The tool is retractable, reduces overheating, improves weld quality by reducing internal voids and lack of fusion, and facilitates variable penetration welds.
