  • Publication number: 20090286003
Abstract: A method of coating a turbine engine component involves providing the turbine engine component with a first area and a second area. The first area neighbors the second area. A cover is disposed over the first area of the turbine engine component. The second area of the turbine engine component is coated with a first coating curable from exposure to a light. The second area of the turbine engine component is exposed to light resulting in the curing of the first coating. The cover is removed from the first area. The first area of the turbine engine component is then sprayed with a second coating different from the first coating.

  • Patent number: 5658134
Abstract: A compressor which provides for minimum clearance in the compression chamber while substantially reducing the heat normally experienced by the piston during the compression stroke of a compressor of this type. The suction valve(s) of the compressor is concentrically mounted in the piston while the discharge valve(s) is concentrically mounted in a stationary position within the cylinder. Since the high heat of compression occurs at the discharge valve, the piston will be much cooler than in prior art compressors of this type which improves the efficiency of the compressor and which substantially extends the operational life of the piston rings.

  • Patent number: 4998513
Abstract: A 4-stroke, internal combustion engine having two intake valves for each cylinder wherein a single rocker-arm assembly actuates both of the intake valves in a timed sequence to provide a stratified charge to the cylinder.

  • Patent number: 4496286
Abstract: A control system for a compressor unit driven by a clean-burn, turbo-charged, gas-fueled engine which is primarily responsive to the load (torque) and the speed of the engine to adjust certain engine parameters to maintain the operating conditions of the engine within a desirable operating zone which is a compromise or "trade-off" between best fuel economy and permissible exhaust emission levels. A number of "maps" which correlate load (torque) at various speeds with specific fuel consumption and exhaust emissions are derived from available manufacturer's data and are programmed into a central processing unit (CPU).
