  • Patent number: 5161530
Abstract: This invention involves a method and device for use in an electrical stimulation treatment called interferential stimulation. Generally, conventional devices have limited treatment area capability. By use of at least one additional electrode and a switching mechanism, vastly improved area coverage can be attained. This increased coverage is possible without any substantial adverse effects to the patient being treated. The axis of each interference pattern is shifted by the switching mechanism and with the additional electrode or electrodes, provides a much more efficient and effective interferential device and method.
