Abstract: As described herein, a method for measuring air quality comprises operating a real-time air quality sensor to continually measure a parameter of environmental air quality; automatically determining if the parameter indicates that a select environmental condition has been reached and providing an output signal responsive thereto; communicating the output signal to an air-quality sampling system; automatically operating the air-quality sampling system responsive to the output signal to collect an air sample for a pre-determined time; and providing laboratory analysis of the collected air sample.

Abstract: Disclosed are magnetic nanosensors or transducers that permit measurement of a physical parameter in an analyte via magnetic reasonance measurements, in particular of non-agglomerative assays. More particularly, in certain embodiments, the invention relates to designs of nanoparticle reagents and responsive polymer coated magnetic nanoparticles. Additionally provided are methods of use of nanoparticle reagents and responsive polymer coated magnetic nanoparticles for the detection of a stimulus or an analyte with NMR detectors.

Abstract: A method of monitoring a patient that comprises a non-invasive measurement of the hematocrit value or the concentration of hemoglobin coupled with the measurement of one or more vital signs. These vital signs include, but are not limited to, cardiac pulse rate, blood pressure, and arterial blood oxygenation. The invention also provides an apparatus for monitoring changes in the hematocrit value of a patient, in combination with one or more of the patient's vital signs.
