  • Publication number: 20230192910
Abstract: Without significantly impacting monomer conversion, the cis-1,4 mer content of conjugated diene mer in polymers can be increased by adding one or more Lewis bases to a catalyst composition that includes a Group 3 metal atom-containing carboxylate. This effect can be seen even at above average monomer concentrations.
    Type: Application
    Filed: February 20, 2023
    Publication date: June 22, 2023
Inventors: Steven M. Baldwin, James J. Kuhel, III

  • Publication number: 20220106421
Abstract: A process for preparing a polydiene having increased viscosity and reduced cold flow that includes polymerizing a conjugated diene monomer in the presence of a lanthanide-containing compound to form an intermediate polymer, and then adding a non-organometallic trimellitate ester compound as a coupling agent to raise the viscosity of the intermediate polymer. The coupling agent is added to the intermediate polymer mixture in an amount of about 0.01 to about 0.15 parts per hundred monomer (phm) of the starting monomer amount.
    Type: Application

    Publication date: April 7, 2022
