Publication number: 20120103922Abstract: A shelf security system in the form of a merchandising shelf having a support member for supporting at least one associated object for display and/or dispensing. The support member defines longitudinal pathway along which the associated at least one object can travel from a rear position to a front position. A moveable retainer is operatively connected to the support member. The retainer is moveable between a first position at least partially obstructing the pathway thereby restricting forward movement of the at least one associated object beyond the front position, to a second position allowing further forward movement of the at least one associated object for removal of same from the support member. The retainer extends substantially across a width of the pathway.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 26, 2011Publication date: May 3, 2012Inventors: Gregory M. Bird, Gerald Szpak, Shane Obitts, James J. Patent number: 8167149Abstract: A merchandise security system includes a merchandise display having a first display member and a second display member vertically spaced from the first display member. At least one tile is mounted to the first display member. The at least one tile is movable between a first position blocking access to a desired column of associated merchandise stored on one of the first and second display members to a second position allowing access to the desired column of the associated merchandise. A lock member is operatively connected to the at least one tile for restricting movement of the at least one tile from its first position. The lock member is movable from the locked position where at the lock member interferes with movement from the at least one tile from its first position to an unlocked position which enables the at least one tile to be moved from its first position to its second position for allowing access to the desired column of associated merchandise.Type: GrantFiled: May 13, 2011Date of Patent: May 1, 2012Assignee: Fasteners For Retail, Inc.Inventors: Stephen D. Publication number: 20110163113Abstract: A theft deterrent dispensing unit particularly for use with cans includes a conveyor section that leads to a dispensing head. The dispensing head pivots downwardly allowing the leading can to be grasped. As the dispensing head pivots downwardly, rear tabs of the dispensing head pivots upwardly, preventing the next adjacent can from moving immediately into the dispensing head until the dispensing head rotates back to a closed position. The tabs also act to center smaller cans as they move down the dispenser. Further, when the dispensing head is pivoted to an open position, a barrier is pulled down from the top of the shroud, preventing an individual from reaching in and grabbing the next adjacent can. The dispensing head includes recessed guide members which are raised when smaller round cans are dispensed, centering the cans in the front of the dispenser.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 6, 2010Publication date: July 7, 2011Inventors: Matthew Eric Grubbs, James J. Rataiczak, III

The dispenser is moveable between a first position blocking access to the product support, and a second position permitting access to the associated lead product in the at least one column while restricting access to any remaining associated products in the at least one column. The dispenser, when moved from the first position to the second position, is configured to move the associated lead product in a direction away from the product support.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 9, 2011Publication date: June 2, 2011Inventors: James J.
