Patent number: 10767824Abstract: An LED night-light includes a housing and first and second prongs extending out of the housing. A light-emitting diode is mounted to the housing and is configured to emit a first color of light. Circuitry is electrically connected to the light-emitting diode. The circuitry is configured for energizing the light-emitting diode when the first and second prongs are inserted into an electrical outlet connected to a power source. A color filter is mounted on the housing. The color filter is configured to filter the first color of light emitted from the light emitting diode to produce at least a second color of light different from the first color of light.Type: GrantFiled: August 27, 2018Date of Patent: September 8, 2020Assignee: Mary Elle Fashions, Inc.Inventors: Matthew S. Smith, James J. Riley, Kenneth A. Howard, Gavin Perry

Patent number: 9360179Abstract: An LED night-light includes a housing and a toggle switch mounted on the housing. First and second prongs are supported by the housing. An LED driver circuit is electrically connected to a light-emitting diode. Movement of the toggle switch to a first position presses a second conductor against the second prong and thereby switchably connects the second conductor to the second prong. Movement of the toggle switch to a second position allows the second conductor to move out of contact with the second prong and thereby switchably provides an open circuit between the second conductor and the second prong. Electricity is supplied to the light-emitting diode and to the LED driver circuit when the toggle switch is in the first position. No electricity is supplied to the light-emitting diode and LED driver circuit when the toggle switch is in the second position.Type: GrantFiled: February 14, 2014Date of Patent: June 7, 2016Assignee: Mary Elle Fashions, Inc.Inventors: Kenneth A. Howard, James J. Riley, Matthew S. Smith

Publication number: 20140185325Abstract: An LED night-light with a switch connected in series with an LED for switching the LED on and off is disclosed. A photo sensor that controls the switch as a function of the ambient light conditions is also disclosed. An LED night-light with a plurality of LEDs for achieving increased light output is also disclosed. An LED night-light using a multilayer chip capacitor to limit the current provided by an alternating current source is also disclosed.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 23, 2013Publication date: July 3, 2014Applicant: Mary Elle Fashions, Inc.Inventors: Kenneth A. Howard, Gavin Perry, James J. Riley
