Publication number: 20240110488Abstract: A gas turbine engine includes a turbine section that has a ceramic matrix composite body that defines a core gaspath side that a row of blades, a forward end, an aft end, and circumferential sides. The forward end abuts at least one vane of a first row of vanes, and the aft end including a seal channel. A compliant seal is disposed in the seal channel and seals against at least one vane of a second row of vanes.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 28, 2023Publication date: April 4, 2024Inventors: Paul M. Lutjen, Daniel S. Rogers, Timothy J. Harding, James E. Weisheit, Morely S. Sherman, Mikayla M. Rogers, Marshall F. Thayer, Joseph Micucci

Publication number: 20240110487Abstract: A gas turbine engine includes a turbine section that has a retainer ring, a first vane that bears against the retainer ring to prevent movement of the first vane in a first axial direction, a second vane axially spaced from the first vane, and a blade axially between the first vane and the second vane. A blade outer air seal is situated radially outwardly of the blade. The blade outer air seal includes a ceramic matrix composite body that defines a core gaspath side that faces the blade, a forward end, an aft end, and circumferential sides. There is a spring seal at the aft end of the blade outer air seal that seals against the second vane. The spring seal provides a preload that biases the blade outer air seal against the first vane and thereby biases the first vane against the retainer ring.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 29, 2023Publication date: April 4, 2024Inventors: Daniel S. Rogers, James E. Weisheit, Morely S. Sherman, Mikayla M. Rogers, Timothy J. Harding, Marshall F. Thayer, Joseph Micucci

Patent number: 7456360Abstract: There is disclosed a wall plate for a wiring device. The wall plate has a single opening for receiving one or a gang of two or more wiring devices within the single opening. The wall plate has along its vertical axis, a surface of positive first differential and zero second differential, including a combination of splines drawn between points of varying distance from a datum plane. The surface has zero second differential when the rate of height increase of individual splines is constant. The wall plate, when composed of non-conducting material, has a conductive coating on its front surface, on its back surface or on both its front and back surfaces. When the wiring device is a switch, the surface of the switch face follows that of the wall plate. When the wiring device is a receptacle, the surface along the receptacle face is flat in one plane to allow for the proper seating of an inserted plug.Type: GrantFiled: July 18, 2007Date of Patent: November 25, 2008Assignee: Leviton Manufacturing Co., Inc.Inventors: Gerd Schmieta, Michael Meyer, Dennis A. Oddsen, Anthony Tufano, Leslie Lindenstraus, James J. Sherman, Tim Langfit

Patent number: 7244891Abstract: There is disclosed a wall plate for a winning device. The wall plate has a single opening for receiving one or a gang of two or more wiring devices within the single opening. The wall plate has a long its vertical axis, a surface of positive first differential and zero second differential, comprised of a combination of splines drawn between points of varying distance from a datum plane. The wall plate, when composed of non-conducting material, has a conductive coating on its front surface, on its back surface or on both its front and back surfaces. When the wiring device is a switch, the surface of the switch face follows that of the wall plate. When the wiring device is a receptacle, the surface along the receptacle face is flat in one plane to allow for the proper seating of an inserted plug.Type: GrantFiled: February 1, 2006Date of Patent: July 17, 2007Assignee: Leviton Manufacturing Co., Inc.Inventors: Gerd Schmieta, Michael Meyer, Dennis A. Publication number: 20030226684Abstract: There is disclosed structure which overcomes the deficiencies with respect to prior art devices by providing a wiring device such as a receptacle or a spring loaded switch having a paddle that pivots about its upper end and is biased to assume the same at rest position when either in its on position or off position. Repeated pressing and releasing the lower portion of the face of the switch paddle alternately closes and opens a set of contacts within the switch to alternately connect and disconnect a load from a source of electricity each time the paddle is pressed. Thus, regardless of whether adjacent switches are on-off switches or 3-way switches, they will always be in alignment. An on-off indicator such as a small light, a flag in a window, a mechanical protrusion of the like can be provided to indicate to a user when the contacts of the switch are opened or closed.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 6, 2002Publication date: December 11, 2003Inventors: Gerd Schmieta, Michael Meyer, Dennis Oddsen, Anthony Tufano, Leslie Lindenstraus, James J. Sherman, Tim Langfitt

Patent number: 6184466Abstract: The threaded wallplate mounting lobes of a mounting strap are eliminated and replaced by a retainer made of thin, hard brass sheet metal. The retainer has a body portion fixed to the mounting strap at each of its two ends and an apertured lobe which takes the place of the lobes of the mounting strap. By contouring the shape of the apertures in the retainers, mounting fasteners may be forced through such apertures to assemble a wallplate to a mounting strap without the usual mating of fastener and threaded mounting lobes.Type: GrantFiled: September 2, 1999Date of Patent: February 6, 2001Assignee: Leviton Manufacturing Co., Inc.Inventors: John Eder, James J.
