  • Patent number: 9383380
Abstract: A method and system of determining motion parameters for a rotating machine. A detector is configured to receive a rotary motion input signal and a counter signal and to send a plurality of time values based on the input signal and the counter signal. A memory stores the plurality of time values in an ordered sequence and is coupled to the detector. A logic component selects time values stored in the memory by skipping a predefined number of time values in the ordered sequence, reads the selected time values to determine a coherent set of data values, and sends the coherent set of data values.

Date of Patent: July 5, 2016
    Assignee: Invensys Systems, Inc.

  • Publication number: 20070055520
Abstract: The present invention combines speech recognition tutorial training with speech recognizer voice training. The system prompts the user for speech data and simulates, with predefined screenshots, what happens when speech commands are received. At each step in the tutorial process, when the user is prompted for an input, the system is configured such that only a predefined set (which may be one) of user inputs will be recognized by the speech recognizer. When a successful recognition is being made, the speech data is used to train the speech recognition system.

  • Publication number: 20050114785
Abstract: Active Content Wizards (ACWS) related to helping computer users perform tasks are executed using an ACW interpreter. In one aspect of the present invention, the interpreter provides multiple levels of user interaction for a given ACW script. In order to help focus the user's attention, various methods are used to increase the conspicuity of the user interface elements relative to sub-tasks during execution of the ACW script. In one embodiment, areas around the user interface element are also de-emphasized.

  • Publication number: 20050033713
Abstract: A text generator automatically generating a text document based on the actions of an author on a user interface. To generate the text document the author activates a recording component. The recording component records the author's actions on the user interface. Based on the recorded actions, a text generation component searches a text database and identifies an entry that matches the author's recorded actions. This text is then combined to form a text document, which provides instruction or other information to a user. During the process of generating the text document, the text can be edited using an editor as desired, such as to enhance the comprehensibility of the document.
