Abstract: Methods of characterizing an analyte using a detector such as a nanopore and an enzyme are provided. One aspect features methods for characterizing a double-stranded polynucleotide using a detector, e.g., without using a hairpin connecting a template and a complement of the double-stranded polynucleotide. Another aspect features methods for characterizing an analyte using a tag-modified nanopore with increased sensitivity and/or higher throughput. Compositions and systems including, e.g., adaptors for attachment to double-stranded polynucleotides and tag-modified nanopores, which can be used in the methods are also provided.

Abstract: A dispenser includes a front panel that can be opaque, and a body that includes a sidewall extending from a rear wall. Further, the front panel is coupled to the body and an interior cavity is formed therebetween. The sidewall includes an illuminating portion and a viewing portion. The illuminating portion is translucent and the viewing portion is transparent. The viewing portion is located between the front panel and the rear wall and the viewing portion and the illuminating portion indicate a refill status.

Abstract: A sheet driver for use in a medicament dispenser with blister pockets includes: (a) a base, extending from the base, (b) a shaft defining a rotational axis; at the base, (c) a drive surface for receipt of drive to rotate the base about the rotational axis; about the shaft, (d) a torsion spring defining first and second spring legs; mounting about the shaft and the torsion spring for rotation about the rotational axis, and (e) a hub defining a hub surface for receipt of a sheet of the medicament carrier, the hub surface being adapted to provide an initial effective winding surface which provides uniform indexing of the medicament carrier.

Abstract: A sheet driver for use in a medicament dispenser including a medicament carrier having a plurality of pockets for containing medicament wherein the pockets are spaced along the length of and defined between first and second sheets secured to each other and separable by drivable pulling action, the sheet driver comprises a hub having a hub surface which is adapted to provide an initial effective winding surface which provides uniform indexing of the medicament carrier, and the tensioning of a torsion spring compensates for an increase in the effective winding surface of the hub caused by receipt of the sheet of the medicament carrier about the hub.
