  • Patent number: 5213485
Abstract: A double diaphragm pump having an air chamber housing centrally located between two water chamber housings. The air chamber housing includes a center section and two outwardly facing concave discs. Each water chamber housing includes a water chamber shell mating with one of the discs with a flexible diaphragm therebetween. Also included integrally formed with the water chamber housing are check valve chambers and inlet and outlet passages. The passages of one water chamber mutually converge with the passages of the other water chamber to receive T-couplings for providing both inlet to and outlet from the pump. O-rings are held in interference fit between the T-couplings and the mutually converging portions of the inlet and outlet passages. Shoulders on the T-couplings and portions keep the O-rings in place. Spacing inserts are employed in each passage to locate either a valve seat or a ball check valve and to close off access openings through the wall of the chamber.

  • Patent number: 4549467
Abstract: An air driven diaphragm pump having an actuator valve for converting a source of compressed air into a reciprocating drive. The actuator valve includes a valve piston for alternately directing air to one side or the other of the pumps, a control rod fixed to the reciprocating elements of the pump and means for shifting the valve piston responsive to the position of the control rod. An axially spaced bifurcated inlet is employed to provide additional energy to the shifting of the valve piston. The valve piston also is arranged to cover vent ports as a mechanism for closing off all compressed air under stalled conditions of the pump.

  • Patent number: 4339985
Abstract: An actuator valve for an air driven reciprocating device wherein the valve includes a control rod responsive to movement of the reciprocating device and a valve piston pneumatically actuated by movement of the control rod. The valve piston selectively directs air to reciprocate the driven mechanism. The control rod includes dual axial passageways to selectively vent each end of the cylinder within which the valve piston operates. The passageways are sealed such that unused pressurized air will not escape from the air valve.

  • Patent number: 4247264
Abstract: A pump assembly for an air driven diaphragm pump mechanism having opposed pump cavities with the actuator valve mechanism located between these cavities. An inlet manifold and an outlet manifold each extend to both of the opposed pump cavities and are positioned diametrically on the pump. Tie rods extend betweeen the manifolds to draw the manifolds toward one another about the pump housing. The mating surfaces between the manifolds and the pump chamber housings are such that drawing the manifolds toward one another causes a compression in the pump components such that the entire pump may be held together by the tie rods alone.

  • Patent number: 4242941
Abstract: An actuator valve for an air driven reciprocating device wherein the valve includes a control rod responsive to movement of the reciprocating device and a valve piston pneumatically actuated by movement of the control rod. The valve piston selectively directs air to reciprocate the driven mechanism. The control rod includes a single axial passageway to selectively vent each end of the cylinder within which the valve piston operates.
