    Abstract: A security apparatus for a portable electronic device having a slot includes a body having an insertable portion configured to be inserted into the slot of the portable electronic device, and a boss extending from the insertable portion and positioned outside of the slot. The boss is configured to attach to a lock head. The security apparatus also includes a wedge supported at least partially within the insertable portion of the body. The wedge is movable relative to the insertable portion between a first position, in which the wedge extends out of the insertable portion and is configured to engage a surface of the portable electronic device that defines the slot, and a second position, in which the wedge is retracted relative to the first position and is configured to disengage the surface of the portable electronic device that defines the slot.

The security apparatus also includes an engagement mechanism having a first finger, a second finger, and a plunger. The first finger and the second finger are configured to be inserted into the aperture of the portable electronic device. The plunger is positioned between the first finger and the second finger and has a cam follower positioned within the slot of the cam member. As the cam member is rotated by the lock cylinder, the plunger pushes the first finger and the second finger apart from each other to engage the portable electronic device.

    Abstract: A technique includes receiving a signal spectrum that includes a plurality of channels within a first frequency range. The technique includes receiving a selection signal that identifies at least one desired channel to be tuned. The technique includes providing an oscillator that has a second frequency range that is substantially the same as the first frequency range and controlling the oscillators to generate one of a plurality of coarse-tune analog mixing signals. The signals substantially span across the second frequency range and each depends upon the location of the desired channel within the signal spectrum. The technique includes mixing the signal spectrum with the selected coarse-tune analog mixing signal to generate a coarsely tuned signal spectrum. The technique includes digitally processing the coarsely-tuned signal spectrum to fine tune the desired channel and to produce digital baseband signals for the desired channel.
