  • Patent number: 11966292
Abstract: In some examples, a distributed computer system includes a plurality of computer nodes, where the plurality of computer nodes include respective programs to cooperate to perform a workload. A first computer node includes a communication proxy between the program of the first computer node and a communication library that supports communications between the program of the first computer node and the programs of other computer nodes of the plurality of computer nodes, and a fault management service to monitor a health of the other computer nodes, and in response to a detection of a fault of a second computer node of the plurality of computer nodes, relaunch the communication proxy. The relaunched communication proxy selects, from a plurality of states, a common state to which the programs are to roll back.

  • Publication number: 20230103111
Abstract: A biochar production system includes a reactor body, a central rod disposed within the reactor body, a leveling arm extending from the central rod and configured to rotate about the central rod, and a bed level sensor system. The bed level sensor system includes a float configured to move from a resting position on a biomass in the reactor to an ending position upon contact with the leveling arm, and a level sensor coupled to the float via a connector. The level sensor is configured to correspondingly move with the float. A controller is configured to detect bed levels of the biomass within the reactor body, and determine a plurality of sample readings based on the detected bed levels.

  • Patent number: 8245472
Abstract: A building façade system adapted to be installed onto an exposed surface of a building and provide a substrate for installation of façade elements (e.g., stone, stucco and the like). The system preferably provides a corrosion-resistant structure adapted to withstand extended environmental exposure. In general, the system includes a highly porous three dimensional matrix filamentous polymeric mat and a fiberglass mesh layer associated therewith. Collectively, the polymeric mat and fiberglass mesh layer are adapted to be installed onto an exposed building wall and provide a substrate onto which desired façade elements may be installed.

  • Publication number: 20120204901
Abstract: A brush device is provided for cleaning an interior of a pool. The brush device includes a brush component having a base with a back portion and a front portion. Bristles are configured to extend from the front portion. Additionally, the brush device includes a flap portion pivotally mounted to the back portion of the base. During the cleaning of the interior of the pool, the flap portion pivots from a first position to a second position, during a first direction of motion of the brush component along the interior of the pool. Additionally, during the cleaning of the interior of the pool, the flap portion pivots from the second position to the first position, during a second direction of motion of the brush component along the interior of the pool. The second direction is opposite in direction to the first direction.

  • Publication number: 20060230699
Abstract: A sound control flooring system adapted to reduce the transmission of airborne sound in a building structure. The system generally includes a subfloor assembly; a first layer of sound absorbing material disposed atop at least a portion of the subfloor assembly, a second layer of sound absorbing material disposed atop at least a portion of the first layer of material, and a cementitious overlay, adapted to receive finished flooring thereon, disposed atop at least a portion of the second layer of material. In an example embodiment, the second layer of sound absorbing material is disposed atop a portion of the first layer of material that generally corresponds to an area of the flooring system adapted to receive a high volume of foot traffic thereon.

  • Patent number: 4388723
Abstract: A radio receiving system partially overcomes jamming and other interference y receiving on a narrow selected frequency which is rapidly changed, i.e., fast frequency hopping (FFH). The system includes a broadband receiving antenna array and a steerable null antenna processor which creates an antenna null pattern. A control device connected to the (FFH) radio connects a portion of the intermediate frequency (IF) of the radio to a bank of three narrowband IF filters in the control device. The output of the first IF filter, at the IF frequency, provides the signal (S) level and the outputs of the second and third filters, which are offset from the IF frequency, are summed to provide the interference (I) level; the I and S levels being used to control the antenna processor.
