  • Publication number: 20070175795
Abstract: Processes for the conversion of hydrocarbons boiling in the temperature range of from about 80° F. to about 1000° F. to diesel boiling range hydrocarbons, and processes for increasing the cetane number and amount of n-C17 hydrocarbon products in such processes. Diesel boiling range hydrocarbons may be produced by contacting a hydrocarbon boiling in the above-mentioned boiling range with a triglyceride-containing compound to form a mixture, and then contacting the mixture with a hydrotreating catalyst under suitable reaction conditions.

  • Publication number: 20070142633
Abstract: Processes for the conversion of carbohydrates to gasoline boiling range hydrocarbons, and processes for increasing the solubility of carbohydrates used in such processes are disclosed. The solubility of carbohydrates may be increased by contacting the carbohydrate with an ion-exchange resin. The dissolved product may be hydrogenated and reacted in the present of a catalyst to form a reaction product containing non-aromatic and aromatic gasoline boiling range hydrocarbons.

  • Publication number: 20070043127
Abstract: A catalyst including a metal material and alumina, and a method of preparing such catalyst composition, are disclosed. A catalyst including a metal material, alumina, and thallium, and a method of preparing such catalyst composition are also disclosed. Each of these thus-obtained catalysts can be used for the conversion of synthesis gas into olefins.

  • Publication number: 20060222050
Abstract: An insulative, high temperature receptacle is provided. Preferably the receptacle is made from ceramic using a ceramic injection molding (CIM) or dry press operation. Such an operation allows for a single piece ceramic receptacle body to include features for assembly to be integrated into the single piece. Conductive electrical terminals may then be inserted to complete the assembly. The receptacle body includes a mounting interface that allows the receptacle to be mounted in, for example, an appliance. Since ceramic is non-conductive, a standard inexpensive two-wire temperature probe may be utilized for applications in a cooking appliance. The ceramic body includes a groove to receive a male connector portion, and the electrical terminals are biased to provide a secure electrical and mechanical contact during operation. A terminal separation structure is also provided to ensure electrical isolation between the electrical terminals thereof.

  • Publication number: 20060214126
Abstract: A flow through solenoid valve comprises a housing, a coil encircling the housing, and a hollow plunger slidably positioned in the housing. The housing has an inlet, a seat, and an outlet. The hollow plunger has a fixed segment and a poppet segment. The poppet segment includes a poppet conduit and is slideable within the housing. The spring encircles the poppet segment and biases the poppet segment toward the seat. The solenoid valve is energized to disengage the poppet segment from the seat. When the poppet and the seat are disengaged, a gas is permitted to flow through the hollow plunger. The solenoid valve is de-energized to engage the poppet segment and the seat. When the poppet and the seat are engaged, the gas is prevented from flowing out of the outlet.

  • Publication number: 20060213496
Abstract: A multiple-output solenoid valve for selectively distributing a gas to a plurality of burners is provided. The multiple-output solenoid valve includes a manifold and a plurality of solenoids positioned therein. The valve has a single gas input, housing defining a manifold, and a plurality of gas outputs. Each of the plurality of gas outputs is coupled with one of the plurality of burners. Each of the plurality of solenoids resides in the manifold and is individually activatable to permit expulsion of the gas from one of the plurality of gas outputs.

  • Publication number: 20060128554
Abstract: A catalyst composition and a process of using a catalyst composition for preparing high molecular weight hydrocarbons, such as polymethylene, from a fluid containing hydrogen and carbon monoxide are disclosed. The catalyst composition contains ruthenium and a treated silica support component. The treated silica support component is prepared by a process including contacting a silica support component, such as silicon dioxide, and a treating agent, such as a silicon-containing compound.

  • Publication number: 20050255028
Abstract: Provided is a method for preparing a composition comprising admixing a substance comprising platinum and a halide and a substance comprising iron and a halide and incorporating the thus-obtained mixture into or onto an aluminum-containing compound, drying and calcining the incorporated mixture, and then admixing the calcined mixture and an aqueous ammonia solution, and drying and calcining that mixture. The thus-obtained composition is then used in a process for oxidizing carbon monoxide with free oxygen to carbon dioxide.

  • Publication number: 20050192008
Abstract: A system and method for providing users with granular control over arbitrary information that allows for selective, real-time information sharing in a communications network such as the Internet is provided. In a network including a plurality of network devices operated by a plurality of users, a real-time information exchange system for sharing user profile information between respective users includes a database management system connected to the network. The database management system, which may be distributed across the network, stores the user profile information for a plurality of registered users of the information exchange system The user profile information includes a plurality of data elements, each data element having an associated one of the plurality of registered users. Each data element has an associated group of users to whom access to the data element has been granted, and users not included in the associated group of users are denied access to the data element.
