  • Patent number: 12080415
Abstract: Systems and methods for facilitating interactions between a medical device (e.g., an imaging device, a surgical tool, a robotic arm, etc.) and a patient using radio frequency (RF) co-localization are provided. The systems include a radio-frequency (RF) interrogator system, one or more first RF target devices for coupling to a patient support for supporting a patient with respect to whom a medical device is to perform a task, and one or more second RF target devices for coupling to the medical device. A controller determines a position of the patient support within an RF interrogator system reference frame, a first position of the medical device within the RF interrogator system reference frame, a transformation between the RF interrogator system reference frame and a patient support reference frame, and a second position of the medical device within the patient support reference frame.

  • Patent number: 8393465
Abstract: A three-piece pocket-size hybrid container for holding a consumer product such as smokeless tobacco product in an interior volume of an inner ring mechanically secured to an interior of an outer base housing including a cover to fit over and snugly around the inner ring. When closed, a cover sidewall may engage a sidewall of the outer base housing to form a flush exterior sidewall of the closed container or the cover sidewall may be spaced apart from the outer base housing to form a gap in the exterior sidewall of the closed container. The outer base housing and cover can be metal and the inner ring can be plastic to provide a strong and robust package that maintains product freshness and is easily opened and closed.

  • Patent number: 5318504
Abstract: A unitary cast or splint forming device which has a layer of cast forming material contained within a water retaining pouch so that water added to the pouch does not wet the exterior. Padded and patient contact layers may be applied to the outside of the pouch.

  • Patent number: 5171208
Abstract: A unitary splinting and casting device pre-formed in layers with a patient contact layer, padding layer, cast layer and fabric layers and a method of making the device. The device is unitary, in the sense that it is pre-formed and packaged so that no additional materials or components are needed to use it.

  • Patent number: 4947839
Abstract: An orthopedic casting material comprising a fabric impregnated and/or coated with a reactive fluid polyisocyanate prepolymer which hardens when wetted with water is treated with a mixture of oil and polymeric micro-powder to produce a material with reduced tack, reduced slip and reduced foaming properties compared to similar commercially available products. The material is further preferably coated or impregnated with a filler such as amorphous silicate.

  • Patent number: 4713286
Abstract: A composite sintered abrasive drill blank for formation into a rotary cutting tool in which one or more veins of sintered abrasive particulate are positioned to extend longitudinally from the conically shaped point region of the drill blank. The one or more veins of abrasive particulate are directly and molecularly bonded into the drill blank structure to expose the sintered abrasive particulate at both the top conical surface and the circumferential edges of the drill blank, with the sintered abrasive particulate forming the cutting surface elements of the rotary cutting tool formed therefrom.

  • Patent number: 4028156
Abstract: A closure collar member having a circular groove formed therein is attached to the tubular neck portion of a plastic container by first inserting the neck into and partially through a tubular mandril member so that the end portion of the neck will extend out the end of the mandril. The neck is then folded over the edge of the mandril and the collar member is then positioned on the mandril so that the folded edge portion of the neck will become fully inserted into the circular groove formed in the collar member. The folded edge of the neck is then fused to the collar member at the root of the circular groove to complete the seal between the parts.

  • Patent number: 3959058
Abstract: The apparatus is comprised of three basic parts, a mold member, an electrode pin member mounted inside the mold member and an electrode ring member mounted on the outside of the mold member. The mold member is made of an insulating, non-metallic material and is provided with a central cavity in which the pin member is mounted. The electrode pin member is made of a conductive metallic material and is provided with a cooling passageway system in the interior thereof. A pair of tubular members of plastic material are inserted into the open end of the mold cavity with their ends abutting each other in an area opposite the end portion of the pin member, with the electrode ring member positioned in the same general area. Radio frequency energy is transmitted between the electrode pin member and the electrode ring member and simultaneously therewith air under pressure is introduced into the passageway system inside the pin.
