  • Patent number: 5481775
Abstract: A toothbrush having a head which moves in an arc about the longitudinal axis of the brush in a spiral track. The brush comprises bristles, a bristle base from which the bristles extend, a panel in which the bristle base slides, a head base and a handle. The panel is attached to the head base by a hinge. • Patent number: 5392947
Abstract: A dental mouthwash product is provided that includes a dispensing container with at least two discreet compartments. In a first of the compartments is a liquid component containing hydrogen peroxide. In a second of the compartments is a liquid component containing sodium bicarbonate. The hydrogen peroxide-containing compartment has an outer wall formed completely of opaque material. The compartment containing the sodium bicarbonate has an outer wall of a material whose clarity is sufficient to view the liquid level therewithin. A closure mechanism is sealingly attached to an upper end of the dispensing container. A structure for inhibiting gurgling of the liquid that can occur upon dispensing is provided in the form of either a vent pipe, a divider wall or a U-shaped divider wall. Additionally, there is provided a child-proof mechanism in the form of a release-button controlling opening of a sealing cover on the closure mechanism.

  • Patent number: 5335827
Abstract: A disposable multi-cavity refill cartridge, for use with a reusable base and a reusable dispensing head for the simultaneous coextension of at least two flowable materials. The disposable refill cartridge has two hollow and separate parallel inner cylinders for each containing a flowable material. The inner cylinders have a first generally open top end which can be temporarily sealed until the refill cartridge is combined with a reusable dispensing head. The second or bottom end of the refill cylinders telescopically and slidingly accommodate parallel piston heads which are compressibly engageable with piston rods of a reusable base. The piston heads ride sealingly along the interior walls of the inner refill cylinders and when compressed by the piston rods, they force the flowable material to flow out of the refill cylinders and through the outlet means of the dispensing head.

  • Patent number: 5295615
Abstract: A dispensing container is provided for delivery of viscous flowable materials such as toothpaste. The container includes a cylindrical upper body for containing the viscous flowable material and is fitted with an orifice for allowing egress thereof. At a lower end of this body is fitted a piston sealingly slidable within the upper body. The piston is formed from a diaphragm and a skirt of circumferentially concave form surrounding the diaphragm and sealingly slideable against an inner wall of the upper body. Within the piston is a cavity downwardly open. A cylindrical lower body is received telescopically within the cylindrical upper body. A boss portion is formed on top of the lower body and extends into the piston cavity to establish a snug, frictional fit. When the container is exhausted of viscous flowable material, the upper body can be discarded and a refill of similar construction can be mounted on the reusable cylindrical lower body.

  • Patent number: 5289950
Abstract: Disclosed is a package for at least two substances which can be dispensed simultaneously. The package comprises a closure system comprising an inclined crown portion, at least two pouring spouts extending upwardly from the upper surface of the crown and a cover for securement to the crown portion, the cover being provided with depending plugs to close the closure. The inclined crown and the positioning of the spouts visually directs the user of the package to dispense the liquid so that premature mixing is avoided.

  • Patent number: 5289949
Abstract: A multi-cavity dispensing refill cartridge to be used with a reusable base. The refill cartridge has two hollow, separate parallel cylinders for containing flowable material. The cylinders have a first generally closed end and a second end which accommodates piston heads. The piston heads are compressably engageable with piston rods of the reusable base. Relative compression of the piston heads and cylinders cause flowable material to flow toward the first end of the cylinders and towards the outlet in the closed end. The outlet include means for causing the flowable materials to flow toward each other at the outlet opening. The refill cartridge is provides with means for selectively, engaging the reusable base.

  • Patent number: 5252312
Abstract: Disclosed is a packaged effervescible composition which generates fresh effervescence at the time of use. The composition comprises a first liquid component including hydrogen peroxide as a functional ingredient and a second liquid component including sodium bicarbonate as a functional ingredient. The package comprises a container for the components and a closure system comprising an inclined crown portion, at least two pouring spouts extending upwardly from the upper surface of the crown and a cover for securement to the crown portion, the cover being provided with depending plugs to close the closure. Preferably each pouring spout is provided with a vent opening which allows smaller through openings in the spouts. The through openings can thus be positioned closer together on the crown. This gives the advantage that the package can be used dispensing liquids into a small container such as a mouthwash cup with controlled pouring.

  • Patent number: 5213431
Abstract: A dispensing device is provided including a container having a neck, a fitment mounted on the container having an elongated socket for receiving a roller therewithin and a valve member slidably mounted on the neck and communicating with an inner surface of the elongated socket. The valve member includes a transverse wall with a switch rib jutting outward from an upper surface thereof and projecting through a window formed on the wall of the fitment. A pair of slots flank the switch rib and partially traverse across the upper surface thereof and completely across a skirt projecting downwardly from the upper surface. Additionally, there may be a cutout area located between the slots. Both the slots and cutout area provide flexibility to the switch rib. Fluid communication between the container and fitment is achieved when a cap covering the fitment is removed.

  • Patent number: 5038963
Abstract: A rigid piston-type multi-cavity dispensing container for simultaneous coextrusion of two or more flowable materials in a predetermined proportion, such as multicomponent toothpaste and the like which, upon relative compression of the upper and lower body members, produces a single, banded, unmixed stream of material. The container has a unique outlet assembly which is arranged to cause the outlet streams of material to flow towards each other. The outlet assembly maintains the segregation of the different materials as they move simultaneously outward through the outlet.

  • Patent number: 4854484
Abstract: A product dispenser for viscous products is described comprising a tubular container, a liquid pump dispenser, and a take-up piston which advances towards the pump dispenser as product is dispensed therethrough from the container. The take-up piston has a central depression to accommodate the lower portions of the housing of the pump dispenser when the piston reaches its uppermost location when the container is nearly fully evacuated of product. Transverse slots cut downwardly in the upper surface of the piston extend radially outwardly from the central depression to the sides of the piston to provide a means to bleed or vent off unwanted air entrapped in product which lies in the central depression.

It comprises a base having at least one inclined ramp which, preferably, has a substantially flat floor, the ramp leading inwardly from the more peripheral sections of the base member to a more raised position adjacent a single central well holding a poisoned bait for the vermin. Peripheral wall means bounding and closing off a substantial portion of the interior of the feeding station from the exterior and having at least one opening to the outer and lower portion of the inclined ramp leading to the central well adapted to hold the bait are also provided. A cover is also provided which is joined to the top of the base member to cover the central well holding the poisoned bait and to also cover a substantial portion of the ramp and wall means.
