James L. LaChance has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Patent number: 7055918
Abstract: A pair of connector elements, one stapled, screwed or otherwise fastened to a countertop and the other stapled, screwed or otherwise fastened to the lower edge of a backsplash are snapped together to mount the backsplash in an upright position along the rear edge of the countertop.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 27, 2001
Date of Patent: June 6, 2006
Inventors: James L. LaChance, Edward M. Collins
  • Patent number: 6749323
Abstract: A generally spherical body having a plurality of flat, small reflective surface elements is supported for rotation about a horizontal axis within a housing having an opening. A light source and a mirror are disposed in the housing to reflect light rays from the light source onto the mirror then to the spherical body to cause the light rays passing through the opening in the housing onto an exterior wall to simulate descending snowflakes. The mirror is adjustable in order to change the path of the simulated snowflakes on the wall.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 11, 2002
Date of Patent: June 15, 2004
    Inventor: James L. LaChance
  • Patent number: 6569042
Abstract: A practice batting device having an elongated gripping portion and an elongated weighted portion interconnected with a spring. A swing speed indicator is positioned within the elongated weighted portion to determine the swing speed of the device. Removable plates permit a selected practice weight, thereby targeting strength training for eliminating recoil effects and snapping the user's wrists to simulate the impact of the bat striking an imaginary ball.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 16, 2001
Date of Patent: May 27, 2003
Inventors: James L. LaChance, Edward M. Collins

  • Patent number: 6145228
Abstract: A decorative hollow Christmas ornament supports a generally spherical body having a plurality of flat, small reflective surfaces for rotation about a horizontal axis. A light source disposed a distance from the reflective spherical transmits light to the small flat surfaces so that their images are then reflected to a wall, such as the exterior of a house, to simulate descending snowflakes.
