  • Patent number: 5927730
Abstract: A cart having a platform base adapted to support a user and further including a connector assembly mounted to the front end of the base for rigidly connecting the base to a personal mobility vehicle and including a pair of swivel casters mounted to the underside of the platform base rearwardly of the connector for aiding the maneuverability of the cart when it is connected to the personal mobility vehicle. The connector assembly comprises a clamping mechanism to clamp onto a rear lifting handle in one embodiment and comprises two pair of vertically slidable plates one set of which is pivotally mounted to the front end of the platform and the other set of which are rigidly mounted to the rear portion of the cart in another embodiment. The cart further includes a support rail extending upwardly from the front end of the platform base and adapted to supply support to the user. The support rail is secured by a pair of side braces extending from the rear end of the platform base to the support rail.

  • Patent number: 4580638
Abstract: A fire suppression and control system for a commercial cooking unit having a conventional chemical fire retardant discharge system has a flexible fire curtain supported by a hood and adapted to enclose the cooking unit from the room between the hood and the floor. A housing for storing the curtain in folded condition is positioned on the hood and includes a release mechanism for releasing the curtain from the housing when a fire occurs. A heat-responsive control for discharge of the fire-resistant chemical is coupled to the release mechanism for the curtain to release the curtain at the time the fire-retardant chemical is delivered to the cooking unit. The fire-retardant chemical is preferably a Halon 1211 gas. The release mechanism includes an electromagnetic coupling which is connected through an electrical circuit to a switch at a mechanical actuator for the valve in the chemical fire-retardant delivery system.

  • Patent number: 4172545
Abstract: A planetary wire feeder for feeding wire workpieces such as welding wire for a MIG or TIG welding operation comprises two sets of rollers connected to rotate in unison about the axis of the wire and radially spaced from each other in a housing. Roller holders have an axially tapered outer surface and are axially movable within the housing. Stationary gibs mounted within the housing with complementary tapered surfaces adjust the spacing between the roller holders at different axial positions of the roller holders within the housing. A nipple is provided on one roller holder tapered outer surface to equalize the pressure of each set of rollers on the wire.
