  • Patent number: 5169335
Abstract: A coupling system connecting a plug of a device or printed wiring board to a receptacle on a motherboard within a chassis. A coupling screw is provided as part of the receptacle which passes through the receptacle and motherboard and extends towards the plug. By providing the coupling screw in the receptacle and an attachment structure in the plug, simple and convenient coupling of the device or printed wiring board to the motherboard is possible. Additionally, size and space restrictions on the device or printed wiring board and chassis near the plug are removed. The device or printed wiring board may be coupled or decoupled from the motherboard by operation of a head of the coupling screw either through a hole in an access plate or chassis wall in the chassis or by extending the coupling screw to the chassis outside surface of the plate or chassis wall.

  • Patent number: 5050240
Abstract: An air cushioned safety and/or display helmet. A thin cushion of air between the wearer's head and the inside of the helmet supports the helmet and distributes the helmet's weight evenly thus preventing development of pressure points and corresponding wearer fatigue. When used in a high performance environment which exposes the user to g forces, such as fighter aircraft, an air regulator controls the air pressure of the air cushion in response to these forces to maintain helmet position and comfort. Air contained in the air cushion can also be used to demist the helmet visor and display optics, can be directed past the head to provide heating or cooling of the head, or can do both at one time.

  • Patent number: 4778205
Abstract: An improved latch assembly having a latch body adapted to be coupled to a generally fixed support, such as a chassis unit, wall or post. The latch body has a groove for removably receiving a retained pin which is adapted to be mounted on a movable structural member to be latched, such as a door, support arm, gate or the like. The latch body further includes a latch pin which is spring biased into engagement with the retained pin when the retained pin is received in the groove of the latch body. The inter-engagement of the retained pin and latch pin is such that the retained pin is restricted against movement in three mutually perpendicular directions, namely the x, y and z directions. The retained pin has a pair of spaced, cylindrical parts on opposite sides of a pair of beveled parts which converge toward each other to an annular junction therebetween. The latch pin has a conical end portion for engaging the beveled parts of the retained pin to resist axial movement of the retained pin in the z direction.
