Patent number: 7975856Abstract: An accessory tray for a pressure washer. The accessory tray of some embodiments has an accessory supporting portion for supporting and/or storing accessories of the pressure washer. The accessory supporting portion has a concave surface, which allows the accessories to be supported substantially normal to the ground regardless of the relative angle between the accessory tray and the ground. Some embodiments also have a flexible cantilevered member positioned above a portion of the accessory tray to trap an accessory against the accessory tray. Some embodiments can have a hose hook that supports and stores a hose of the pressure washer. The hose hook has a concave shape to allow the hose to be supported substantially normal to the ground.Type: GrantFiled: May 29, 2009Date of Patent: July 12, 2011Assignee: Briggs & Stratton CorporationInventors: Richard J. Gilpatrick, Daniel D. Monty, James L. Welch

Patent number: 7225651Abstract: The invention provides a pick-resistant locking mechanism with wafer tumblers, sidebars and an interchangeable cylinder that allows re-keying of the lock. The sidebars have projections with beveled sides that engage with cavities in the lock shell when rotational torque is applied to the lock in the absence of the correct key. A sidebar of the lock contacts two, nonadjacent wafer tumblers. The wafer tumblers have indentations that engage cavities in the lock shell when rotational torque is applied during picking of the lock. Tolerance between sidebars and the lock shell is less than the tolerance between tumblers and the lock shell. The tumbler springs are not accessible from the keyway of the lock and are more powerful than the sidebar springs.Type: GrantFiled: January 14, 2004Date of Patent: June 5, 2007Assignee: Master Lock Company LLCInventors: Billy B. Edwards, James L. Welch

Patent number: 6434981Abstract: A combination lock having a housing, a shackle, a dial, a pushbutton, and a lock assembly. The lock assembly is made of a group of rotating disks having windows that can be aligned to open the lock. When the dial is turned according to the combination of the lock, the windows become aligned so that the user can depress the pushbutton to release the shackle. The pushbutton travels in a direction that is perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the dial. When the shackle is locked again, the pushbutton returns to its original position. As the pushbutton travels back to its original position, portions of the lock assembly are turned so that the combination must be reentered in order to reopen the lock.Type: GrantFiled: March 1, 2001Date of Patent: August 20, 2002Assignee: Master Lock CompanyInventors: Steven A. Fantl, James L. Welch, Jesse A. Marcelle, John W. Grosz, Edward A. Raleigh

Patent number: 5316265Abstract: A scaffold mounted hoist (20) is provided which mounts with an adapter (30) on a pin (91) extended upward from the scaffold. An electric motor driven transmission (42) causes a standard (40) to rotate relative to the adapter. A cable from an electric winch (50) on the standard is reeved through a pulley (48) on a boom (44) extending from the standard. The transmission and winch motors respond to receivers (56) in the hoist. Thus a load (28) attached to the cable can be lifted, lowered and swung circumferentially through commands from a hand held transmitter (24). An electric eye system (64) stops the load adjacent the boom. Timers (252, 253) stop the load when it nears, respectively, the ground and the scaffold floor (34).Type: GrantFiled: September 17, 1991Date of Patent: May 31, 1994Inventors: James L.
