  • Patent number: 5614648
Abstract: A method of producing an antioxidant containing derivatives of an organic compound, and in particular, an antioxidant glyceride derivative, comprises reacting a first compound with a second medium. By this reaction, a product is formed whereby an active component of the first compound, e.g., an antioxidant moiety, is covalently incorporated into the second medium. The second medium comprises glyceride derivatives, silicones, fluorocarbons and alkoxylates containing reactive groups such as hydroxy, amino, carboxyl, ester, or amides.

  • Patent number: 5385215
Abstract: The present invention provides for an improved scaffolding jack system. The present invention provides the top bar that connects the inside vertical posts to the outside vertical posts to have a slidable gate received within the top bar. In a closed position the sliding gate connects the top bar to the inside vertical post and can bear a normal load. In an open position, the sliding gate slides into the top bar to permit a worker to pass easily.

  • Patent number: 5362847
Abstract: A graft copolymer is produced by grafting both at least one perfluoroacrylate and at least one N-(oxymethyl)acrylamide, e.g., IBMA, onto a poly(oxyalkylene) composition. This graft copolymer is water dispersible prior to crosslinking while after crosslinking, it becomes a highly durable hydrophobic and oil repellent coating for fibers, textiles, and the like.

  • Patent number: 5112678
Abstract: A method of producing a non-porous mat includes coating a predominantly glass fiber porous web substrate. The coating comprises an aqueous mixture of a mineral pigment; a first binder material comprised of a polymer latex adhesive material; and, a second binder material comprised of an inorganic adhesive material. On a dry weight basis, the first binder material comprises no more than 5.0% by weight, and the second binder material at least 0.5% by weight, of the total weight of the coating. The second binder preferably comprises an inorganic compound such as calcium oxide, calcium silicate, calcium sulfate, magnesium oxychloride, magnesium oxysulfate, or aluminum hydroxide. In one mode, the second binder is included in the mineral pigment, as in the cases wherein the mineral pigment includes aluminum trihydrate, calcium carbonate, calcium sulfate, magnesium oxide, and some clays and sands. A method of using the coated mat to produce a thermosetting plastic foam laminate panel is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5102728
Abstract: A coating composition and method of producing a non-porous mat includes coating a predominantly glass fiber porous web substrate. The coating comprises an aqueous mixture of a mineral pigment; a first binder material comprised of a polymer latex adhesive material; and, a second binder material comprised of asphalt emulsion material. The total dry weight basis of both binders does not exceed 24% of the total coating.

  • Patent number: 4938446
Abstract: A fishing rod support having a pair of tines connected by a horizontal member adapted for purchase of the foot to set the tines into the soil. A spaced apart pair of upwardly and downwardly opening rod cradles allow the rod to be positioned within the cradles to clear the reel for unobstructed use.

  • Patent number: 4769854
Abstract: A single piece of medium thickness and quality leather trimmed into a shape which allows for a first portion to be wrapped tightly around the ankle covering the lower leg and for a second portion to be wrapped tightly around the foot covering the instep. The two wraps are held tight by joining separate sets of loop pile and cooperative hook fastener strips which are sewn to the leather. The ankle portion is dressed by placing the inside strip of the ankle fastener facing outward on the outside of the ankle and rotating the wrap around the backside, inside and front side of the ankle overlapping the beginning point where the outside strip of the fastener is joined to the inside strip. The foot portion is dressed by placing the inside strip of the foot fastener facing outward on the outside of the foot and rotating the wrap around the bottom side, inside and topside of the foot overlapping the beginning point where the outside strip of the fastener is joined to the inside strip.

  • Patent number: 4167388
Abstract: A method and apparatus for forming hollow members wherein a preformed tube is placed between an upper and lower die having the finished tube contour, while each end of the preformed tube has a cylindrical end which is held by the dies; each cylindrical end is flared outwardly by the tapered end of a nozzle which is inserted and forced into each end forming a seal therewith. An incompressible forming substance is injected into one inlet nozzle through said preformed tube and out the other outlet nozzle into a chamber, a bleed valve permits purging the air; the substance is contained within said preformed tube and a piston is inserted into said chamber to increase the pressure on said substance. This finally forms the preformed tube into the shape set by the dies.
