  • Publication number: 20240150270
Abstract: A method of selectively recovering a lipophilic target substance. An insoluble adsorbent is exposed to a solution of the target substance in a lipophilic solvent. Adsorption of the adsorbent with the target substance is facilitated by addition of hydrophilic solvent, which is less hydrophobic than the lipophilic solvent, to the solution during or after exposure of the solution to the insoluble adsorbent, lowering the temperature of the solution or evaporating a portion of the lipophilic solvent. The adsorbent Is isolated from the solution. For desorbing and recovering the target substance, a hydrophobic dissociation fluid may be combined with the adsorbent, a temperature of the adsorbent may be increased or a portion of the hydrophilic solvent may be evaporated. A solution may be exposed to one or more adsorbents for recovering additional lipophilic target substances, recovering hydrophilic target substances or removing unwanted substances.

  • Publication number: 20240115715
Abstract: A pharmaceutical composition, a combination product including the composition and a method of manufacturing the composition. The composition includes a particulate complex of API bound with a crosslinked polysaccharide micro sponge. The combination product includes a dosage form of the particulate complex within a container. The amount of the particulate complex is selected to provide a defined dose of the API. The formulation may be heated within the container by a vaporizer device, vaporizing the API and dissociating the API from the micro sponge as vapour, which passes through apertures in the container facilitating administration of the API by inhalation of the vapour. The apertures are sized to facilitate passage of the vapour but prevent passage the particulate complex. The API may be hydrophobic such as phytocannabinoids or hydrophilic such as nicotine. The pharmaceutical composition may be manufactured by driving binding of the API to the micro sponge in solution.

  • Patent number: 10441322
Abstract: Anterior spinal implant devices for reducing spinal malalignment and associated systems and methods are disclosed herein. A spinal implant system configured in accordance with embodiments of the present technology can include, for example, a first vertebral support implanted at an anterior region of a first vertebra of a patient, a second vertebral support implanted at an anterior region of a second vertebra inferior to the first vertebra, and an alignment system configured to be releasably coupled to the first and second vertebral supports. The first and second vertebral supports can extend into and interlock with each other within an interbody space between the first and second vertebrae when the first and second vertebral supports are aligned. The alignment system is configured to reduce angular, vertical, and linear malalignment of the first and second vertebrae relative to each other.

  • Patent number: 4576517
Abstract: A marine heave compensating device comprises a hydraulic piston and cylinder unit (15,16) with its cylinder (15) secured to a support (10,11). The piston is connected via a piston rod (16) to a cross-head (17) on which a first set of pulleys (18) are rotatably mounted. Chains (19) secured at one end to the support (10,11) are entrained around pulleys (18) and support a yoke (20) on which is mounted a crown block (21). A cable (22) is reeved around crown block (21) and around a travelling block (23) which carries a tool carrier (24). The two ends of cable (22) are reeved around two second pulleys (26A,26B) rotatably mounted on the cross-head (17). End (22A) of cable (22) is connected to a draw-works and end (22B) of cable (22) is connected to a tie-down.
