  • Patent number: 8188878
Abstract: An LED light and communication system includes at least one optical transceiver, the optical transceiver including a light support and a processor. The light support has a plurality of light emitting diodes and at least one photodetector attached thereto, the light emitting diodes receiving power from a power source. The processor is in communication with the light emitting diodes and the at least one photodetector, the processor capable of illuminating the light emitting diodes to simultaneously create at least one first light signal, and at least one second light signal, the first light signal being observable to the unaided eyes of an individual and the second light signal not being observable to the unaided eyes of the individual. The second light signal includes at least one data packet. The at least one data packet comprises global positioning system (GPS) location information.

  • Publication number: 20110173023
Abstract: The various embodiment methods and systems manage the transportation of high priority medical materials, such as harvested organs from the donor to the recipient, so as to ensure a secure, continuous and monitored transport of such materials. The management systems and methods of the various embodiments provide accountability and ensure the integrity of the organs during transportation by planning, managing and monitoring the organ transportation process. A transport device containing an organ in transit may provide status data to a centralized command center, which may in turn update the planned transplant process as necessary and communicate updates with participants.

  • Patent number: 6336617
Abstract: There is disclosed a tilt control mechanism for a keyboard support platform. The keyboard support platform is of the type that includes linkage for connecting the platform to a work surface. The linkage further includes linkage arms that pivotally connect the keyboard support platform to the work surface. The tilt control mechanism comprises a tilt adjustment actuator arm and a pawl and ratchet connection between the actuator arm and the support platform. The pawl and ratchet provide a series of separate detent positions which define distinct length actuator arm connections between a fulcrum point and the support platform to thereby control the tilt of the platform.
