  • Patent number: 7806359
Abstract: A fence wire unrolling and stretching apparatus includes a base, a spindle extending upwardly from the base, and a hitch member extending outwardly from the base in approximately perpendicular relation to the spindle. The hitch member is sized and shaped to be receivable within a receiver hitch of a vehicle, such as a pickup truck. The spindle has a plurality of transverse holes formed therethrough, each hole being at a height above the base selected to correspond to a height of a roll of a respective type of fence wire. A lock bar comprising a shaft and a flange connected to the shaft along a portion of its length is receivable through any one of the holes in the spindle. The flange has an edge which is engageable with an end of a roll of fence wire positioned on the spindle to prevent the roll from rotating.

  • Patent number: 6481374
Abstract: A deer feeder adapted for hanging in a tree is provided. The feeder includes an upright tubular feed reservoir. A feeding port angles upwardly from and communicates with the feed reservoir proximate its bottom end. In a first embodiment of the feeder, a flexible support member such as a chain is connected to the reservoir proximate its top end and so as to be engageable with the tree to suspend the feeder therefrom and a cleat extends outwardly from the feed reservoir and engages the tree trunk in order to stabilize the feeder relative to the tree. In a second embodiment, the exterior surface of the feeder is corrugated so as to include a plurality of transverse ridges separated by grooves. The feeder is connected to a tree trunk by flexible securement members which encircle the feeder and engage the grooves on the exterior surface.

  • Patent number: 6178603
Abstract: A wire tensioning apparatus includes a pair of opposed pressure grips interconnected by a cable or cord, and a wire tensioning device such as a double-action winch secured to the cord intermediate the grips. The grips each include a baseplate having a rotatable jaw or eccentric cleat with a plurality of teeth formed in a lower edge thereof for attaching the grips to a fence wire. In operation, the winch is selectively rotated to pull the grips inward toward one another providing tension to the fence wire. The apparatus can be left attached to the fence wire to provide permanent support, and can be intermittently tightened to provide additional tension.
