  • Patent number: 11958738
Abstract: An optical system including a dual-layer microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) device, and methods of fabricating and operating the same are disclosed. Generally, the MEMS device includes a substrate having an upper surface; a top modulating layer including a number of light modulating micro-ribbons, each micro-ribbon supported above and separated from the upper surface of the substrate by spring structures in at least one lower actuating layer; and a mechanism for moving one or more of the micro-ribbons relative to the upper surface and/or each other. The spring structures are operable to enable the light modulating micro-ribbons to move continuously and vertically relative to the upper surface of the substrate while maintaining the micro-ribbons substantially parallel to one another and the upper surface of the substrate. The micro-ribbons can be reflective, transmissive, partially reflective/transmissive, and the device is operable to modulate a phase and/or amplitude of light incident thereon.

  • Patent number: 11963100
Abstract: Power management operations are performed by devices communicating using multiple bands simultaneously where a first wireless band can be used to send and receive power management control frames for use on a second wireless band of a wireless network. In this way, a device that is in a sleep or dose power management state on a first band can be instructed to enter an awake power management state on the first band based on a communication received over a second band that is currently active and receiving data. Embodiments of the present invention enable power to be conserved when a band is not currently being used, or when there is no more data available (buffered) for a specific band.

Abstract: Mechanisms are provided for compartmental epidemiological computer modeling based on mobility data. Machine learning training of an isolation rate prediction computer model is performed to generate a trained isolation rate prediction model that predicts an isolation rate of a biological population. Isolation data is received which comprises data indicating a measure of mobility of the biological population. The trained isolation rate prediction model is executed on input features extracted from the isolation data to generate a predicted isolation rate. A compartmental epidemiological computer model, comprising a plurality of compartments representing states of a population with regard to an infectious disease, is executed to simulate a progression of the infectious disease and flows of portions of the population from between compartments in the compartmental epidemiological computer model are controlled based on the predicted isolation rate.

  • Patent number: 11943012
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide an apparatus and method for a MAP wireless network that includes a collaborative channel sounding measurement phase to determine channel state information between devices (e.g., the channel state between an STA and a collaborative AP) for efficient configuration of the MAP wireless network and to improve the performance of the MAP wireless networks. The wireless AP and wireless STAs associated with the collaborative APs can simultaneously transmit by applying collaborative beamforming where the interferences between channels nullify each other (e.g., nulling), and the beamforming is performed based on a sounding phase performed by the collaborative APs.
