  • Patent number: 6562506
Abstract: In a fuel-cell system, the task of replacing a fuel-cell stack mounted on a base is made easier by a hinge coupling the fuel-cell stack and the base. The hinge enables the stack to be pivoted onto the base so that an aperture on the stack aligns with a corresponding aperture on the base.

  • Patent number: 6372372
Abstract: A fuel cell stack assembly includes a stack of fuel cell flow plates that include fluid passageways; pipes to communicate fluids with the fluid passageways; an end plate; and a dielectric manifold. The end plate supports a compressive load to compress the stack, and the end plate includes openings. The manifold is located between the end plate and the stack to communicate the fluids between the pipes and the fluid passageways. The manifold at least partially extends through the openings in the end plate to form a sealed connection between the manifold and the pipes.

  • Patent number: 5862655
Abstract: An adjustable mowing and trimming apparatus is presented which employs a unique wheel adjust mechanism and trimming assembly. The apparatus includes a frame to which at least two wheels are rotatably mounted at opposite sides of an adjustable linkage which is loosely coupled to the frame through a moveable pivot assembly. A mechanism is provided for manually adjusting the moveable pivot assembly to actuate the adjustable linkage and thereby reorient the wheels on either side of the frame. The trimming assembly is mounted at a front portion of the frame and includes a spindle head fixedly mounted to a spindle depending from the frame so as to rotate with the spindle. The spindle head substantially covers the spindle and is sized such that a distal end thereof rests proximate to ground when the trimming apparatus is operational. A trimmer head is adjustably clamped about the spindle head so as to rotate therewith.

  • Patent number: 5062329
Abstract: A tamping tool having a pushing member configured for insertion into a hopper throat of a chipper/shredder device. An operator engageable handle is formed to an end of the pushing member, and a stop is formed intermediate the length of the pushing member for engagement with a hopper of the chipper/shredder to limit the distance the member may be inserted into the hopper throat, the position of the stop being selected to prevent the engagement of the tool with the pulverizing elements of the chipper shredder. A hook is provided on the handle for convenient storage of the tool on the hopper.
