  • Patent number: 10947124
Abstract: A system and method for producing commercial strength solutions of aluminum chlorohydrate are provided. The method includes providing aluminum chlorohydrate monohydrate (ACHMH) powder, heating water to at least 120° F. and less than 200° F., and dissolving at least a portion of the ACHMH powder into the heated water to form the solution of aluminum chlorohydrate. The produced solution of aluminum chlorohydrate from the ACHMH powder has an aluminum oxide concentration ranging from about 18 wt % to about 27 wt %, has a basicity ranging from greater than 74% and less than 83%, and has a freezing point ranging from about 10° F. to about 16° F. The solution may also have an iron content of between about 0 to about 70 ppm as Fe.

  • Patent number: 10869459
Abstract: A method for producing a mixed salt of sodium and aluminum includes providing a solution comprising water, sodium chloride and sulfuric acid, heating the solution to a temperature between 180° F. and 300° F. so that the sodium chloride reacts with the sulfuric acid to form sodium bisulfate and hydrochloric acid and then continue heating until the solution is essentially free of the hydrochloric acid, adding aluminum or an aluminum compound to the solution to form the mixed salt comprising a sodium aluminum sulfate compound and solidifying the mixed salt to form the sodium aluminum sulfate compound.

  • Patent number: 10450209
Abstract: A process for producing a polyaluminum chlorosulfate (PACS) includes adding an aluminum hydroxychloride (AHC) solution having about 38-43% basicity with (1) aqueous aluminum sulfate to form a solution and mixing a solid AHC with the solution to form an aqueous milky suspension or (2) a solid AHC and solid aluminum sulfate and adding water to the solid mixture to form an aqueous milky suspension, and maintaining the milky suspension for a period sufficient to allow the milky suspension to form a clear to slightly turbid solution including the PACS, the PACS having a basicity of 55 to 75%, the average molecular weight of the PACS is greater than or equal to 95 and less than or equal to 111, and salts present in the PACS comprise 0-1.0% sodium chloride by weight and 0-1.0% sodium sulfate by weight.
