  • Patent number: 11938326
Abstract: Implantable medical systems enter an exposure mode of operation, either manually via a down linked programming instruction or by automatic detection by the implantable system of exposure to a magnetic disturbance. A controller then determines the appropriate exposure mode by considering various pieces of information including the device type including whether the device has defibrillation capability, pre-exposure mode of therapy including which chambers have been paced, and pre-exposure cardiac activity that is either intrinsic or paced rates. Additional considerations may include determining whether a sensed rate during the exposure mode is physiologic or artificially produced by the magnetic disturbance. When the sensed rate is physiologic, then the controller uses the sensed rate to trigger pacing and otherwise uses asynchronous pacing at a fixed rate.

  • Patent number: 11925356
Abstract: An example medical device for occluding the left atrial appendage includes an expandable member having a first end region, a second end region and an inflation cavity. The medical device also includes a plurality of spine members coupled to the expandable member, the plurality of spine members spaced circumferentially around an outer surface of the expandable member. Additionally, the medical device includes a valve member extending at least partially into the inflation cavity, wherein the plurality of spine members are configured to position the medical device within an opening of the left atrial appendage and wherein the expandable member is configured to expand and seal the opening of the left atrial appendage.

  • Patent number: 11918977
Abstract: Contaminate-sequestering coatings including a network of hydrolyzed silane compounds including a plurality of thiol functional groups, a plurality of fluorinated functionalities, or both are provided. The contaminate-sequestering coatings may sequester one or more per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), heavy metals, biological species or any combination thereof. Methods of functionalizing a substrate surface with contaminate-sequestering functionalities that sequester one or more PFAS, heavy metals, or both are also provided. Methods of removing contaminants from contaminate-containing liquids, and devices including the contaminate-sequestering coatings are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20210071992
Abstract: A weapon sight apparatus includes a housing, a sight mount, an angle modifier, an angle adjusting mechanism, and a weapon mount. The housing includes a first end, a second end, a first side, and a second side. The sight mount is disposed on the first side of the housing and includes a first end and a second end, the sight mount being pivotally mounted proximate the second end of the sight mount and to couple to a weapon sight. The angle modifier modifies an angle of the housing. The angle adjusting mechanism is coupled to the second end of the sight mount, the angle adjusting mechanism to adjust an angle of the housing in accordance with the angle modified by the angle modifier. The weapon mount, disposed on the second side of the housing, mounts a projectile weapon to the weapon sight apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20170219202
Abstract: An LED lighting array for illuminating an area with the lighting array comprising a plurality of LED devices set in conical or elliptically conical reflectors, each of which is mounted upon a plate, each of which may be set at various angles to one other, and each of which is backed by a series of elements, first a copper support element, then an optional layer of graphite foam, followed by an aluminum plate, and then an arrangement of copper fins operably lined to a thermal mass mate. The copper support element includes support planes that are off-set relative to each adjacent plate and are in at least three different planes relative to each other. The backing plates may efficiently dissipate heat produced by the LEDs. The apparatus can be mounted upon a stand to illuminate an area such as a portion of a car park, building entrance or the like.
