  • Patent number: 11969351
Abstract: An orthopedic knee prosthesis includes a femoral component, a tibial bearing, a tibial component, a first magnetic portion associated with the femoral component and including a first pole having a first pole polarity the first magnetic portion not physically interrupting any articulating portion of the curved medial condyle surface or curved lateral condyle surface, and a second magnetic portion associated with one or both of the tibial bearing and/or the tibial component and including a second pole having a second pole polarity, the second pole polarity the same as the first pole polarity, the second magnetic portion not physically interrupting any articulating portion of the concave medial bearing surface or concave lateral bearing surface, wherein the first pole and the second pole are in sufficient proximity to each other such that a magnetic repulsive force is present therebetween.

  • Patent number: 7226048
Abstract: An imaging apparatus includes a sheet picking mechanism drive unit that includes a sheet pick gear train for driving a sheet picking mechanism to transport a sheet from a stack of print media along the sheet feed path. A print media dam is pivotably coupled at an axis to the imaging apparatus. The print media dam has at least one dam member and a first gear. Each dam member has a media engaging surface. A drive mechanism is drivably coupled between the sheet picking drive mechanism and the first gear to move the dam member between an extended position and a retracted position. When the dam member is in the extended position, the media engaging surface is positioned to interrupt the sheet feed path. When the dam member is in the retracted position, the media engaging surface is positioned to not interrupt the sheet feed path.

  • Patent number: 5199177
Abstract: A lighted level including a frame having parallel working surfaces and an inner connecting web having an aperture with a pair of notches for supporting a liquid-containing vial. The level includes a light emitting diode for illuminating the vial. The level is constructed for automatic drop-in assembly of each of the component parts, including a printed circuit board containing the lighting circuitry, without requiring wires, screws, pins, pegs or bolts.

  • Patent number: 4603567
Abstract: A manufacturing system is described for sequentially bending a plurality of planar spring elements extending from a regularly perforated bar or fret, then adjusting the resiliency of each element to provide a precise load when deflected to a particular position, and finally shearing only those elements meeting the desired deflection load criteria from the fret. A microprocessor obtains necessary processing data while controlling the several stations at which the spring elements are measured, formed (bent), thermally adjusted and sheared from the fret. A walking beam transport system also controlled by the microprocesser incremently transports the frets of spring elements between and through each station. An oven can be incorporated into the walking beam transport system between the forming and thermal adjust stations for stress relieving the spring elements before adjustment.

  • Patent number: 4384628
Abstract: A vehicle overload detector characterized as mechanism which, after installation, is calibrated to a preselected initial setting, where upon loading a vehicle, the resulting metered deflection visibly advises the operator of any possible overload condition. Restated otherwise, the mechanism measures vehicle frame deflection, employing two cables, oppositely wound around a control pulley, for establishing the aforesaid initial setting and the deflected setting, respectively.

  • Patent number: 4368791
Abstract: A device for estimating postage requirements for envelopes and the like, and comprising a holder for supporting the envelope during the estimating process, a balancing lever pivotally secured to the holder and having a fulcrum about which the device may rock, and a recess provided at the outer end of the lever for receiving weighted elements therein which are calculated to generally counter balance the envelope in a manner for providing an estimate of the postage requirements for mailing of the letter in the postal system.
