  • Patent number: 8267851
Abstract: A lucid dream is induced in a subject. A brain state entrainment signal is generated in a circuit. A transducer applies a waveform of a kind sufficient to cause a lucid dream in the brain based on the brain state entrainment signal. The brain state entrainment signal modulates a carrier wave of a higher frequency than the entrainment frequency. The waveform is first applied to the subject and thereafter removed to attempt a lucid dream. The waveform can be electrical, light, sound or magnetic waveforms.

  • Patent number: 7016339
Abstract: Method and apparatus for Real Time protocol mixer traversal. Data including at least one feedback component are transmitted from a first to a second node. The feedback component is transmitted to the first node. Alternatively, a method includes transmitting Real Time Protocol data to a mixer from a first and a second node participating in a real time communications session. The mixer has a first feedback decoupling and a second feedback decoupling array. A feedback stream is sent from the first node and the second node to the mixer. The first and second feedback stream are responsive to the mixed stream. The first and second feedback stream are separated into a first and a second feedback component part. The first part is associated with Real Time Protocol information received from the first node. The second feedback component is representative of the information received from the second node.

  • Patent number: 6775301
Abstract: A system and method for receiving a transported stream of data packets at a network includes stripping the headers off the data packets at a de-packetizer, buffering the data packets at a jitter buffer and shifting the play-out of the data packets from the jitter buffer to a decoder by at least a fraction of a frame to provide a desired value of channel jitter compensation. The shift in the play-out of the data packets is computed either using a watermark optimization calculation, a frame phase offset adjustment which reduces the delay between packet arrival times and packet depletion times, or a combination of the two.

  • Patent number: 6700895
Abstract: A method and system for selecting an optimal size of a jitter buffer in a real time communications system includes calculating a frame loss rate from packet arrival statistics. The packet arrival statistics include determining an average queue time a frame spends in a jitter buffer and determining the difference between an expected arrival time and actual arrival time of a sample of data packets into a receiver. The frame loss rate is calculated by considering the frames that arrive late, frames that are lost in the network and frames that overflow due to an arriving burst of frames.

  • Patent number: 6366959
Abstract: A method and apparatus for communication system buffer size and error correction coding selection. A method includes the steps of receiving a stream of data packets by a real time receiver that includes a buffer management device, a first plurality of jitter buffers, and a second plurality jitter buffers. The first and second plurality of jitter buffers are evaluated and a first and a second optimal jitter buffer is chosen. The first and the second optimal jitter buffer has an associated conditional optimal performance characteristic. The conditional characteristics are compared and a preferred buffer of the receiver is selected. The apparatus includes a receiving device including a first set of jitter buffers and a second set of jitter buffers with error coding. The first set includes a plurality of buffers and a second plurality of buffers maintained in the second set of buffers.
