  • Publication number: 20210232987
Abstract: A method of developing a production system that is aligned with the logical and physical requirements of the production system. The method includes building a logical control node as a structured data object containing a hierarchical list of design requirements associated with a portion of a production system. The logical control node is combined with other logical control nodes associated with other portions of the production system based on relationships between the respective requirements stored in the logical control nodes. The logical network is then converted into a physical model of the production system by converting the logical control nodes into their related physical nodes and confirming the arrangement of the physical nodes conforms to the relationships established in the logical network and any other relevant requirements stored in the logical control nodes.

  • Patent number: 10474764
Abstract: A system and method for determining an optimum geographic location using a system of systems. A Design of Experiments is conducted for a particular system of systems architecture using a simulation engine based upon a predefined set of inputs, and Response Surface Models (RSMs) are generated based on the results. The RSMs are evaluated to determine candidate points to minimize or maximize the desired response(s). A candidate geographic location point is set, and one or more truth runs are performed for values in a set of defined second level values. The RSMs are updated based on such truth runs. The process of optimizing, performing a truth run and updating is repeated until the optimal value of the selected variable converges toward a global minimum or maximum, or a predetermined threshold number of iterations is exhausted. The optimum geographic location is designated as the final candidate geographic location point.

  • Patent number: 9319641
Abstract: A method is provided that includes receiving from a camera, video depicting a scene having a center bounded by first and second horizontal edges. The scene also includes an identified object of interest (OI) having a region around the identified OI and a motion vector representing a location, and an amount and at least a horizontal direction of movement. The method also includes calculating from the location of the identified OI, a distance of the identified OI from either or both of the horizontal edges of the scene, and in which the first horizontal edge is in the horizontal direction of movement and the second horizontal edge is opposite the horizontal direction of movement. And the method includes causing an increase or decrease in speed of the camera in the horizontal direction of movement based on location of the identified OI relative to the first/second horizontal edges.

  • Patent number: 9122551
Abstract: Methods and systems for use in generating read-only production operating systems including at least one application for use with a target workstation are disclosed. One example method includes providing a baseline operating system based on a hardware profile of the target workstation, executing an installation script for a target application, adding at least one resource to the baseline operating system based on an error message indicating at least one resource called by the installation script is not found, and writing, at a computing device, a production operating system to a read-only media. The production operating includes the baseline operating system and the at least one resource.

  • Publication number: 20150120271
Abstract: A system for visualizing and optimizing the operation of a system of systems. A Design of Experiments is conducted for a particular system of systems architecture using a simulation engine based upon a predefined set of inputs. The results are stored in a database as real data. Surface Response Models are built based upon the results and simulation data is generated and stored based on the Surface Response Models for data not present in the results. The results of the Design of Experiments are filtered to identify key variables. Values and rankings are selected for the key variables. An interim output is generated and displayed based on the selected values and rankings. The interim output is determined based on the real and simulation data. The results are verified by performing a simulation based on the selected values and comparing the simulation output with the interim output.

  • Patent number: 7831543
Abstract: Techniques are provided for capturing data which satisfy data requirements of a particular data capture process. Schema including input requests for the data which satisfy the data requirements of the particular data capture process are specified. The schema can then be transformed into a template which includes the input requests and which conforms to the schema. The template can then be interpreted, and the input requests can be presented to a data provider. Structured data which satisfy the data requirements of the particular data capture process can then be generated based on responses to the input requests.

  • Patent number: 7801914
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for collecting desired information from information that relates to a specific situation within the context of a specific work environment, wherein the information comprises extraneous information and the desired information. A template that relates to the specific situation can be opened and interpreted at a computing device to generate queries presented to a user for extracting the desired information from the information. A user can input responses to the queries, and a completed template can be generated based on the responses. The completed template includes the desired information. The completed template can be submitted to an information management system.

  • Publication number: 20080301570
Abstract: A collaborative information sharing system as described herein employs a graphical user interface (GUI) that displays a spaciotemporal rendering along with icons that represent items of interest, such as aircraft, vessels, radar equipment, and communications equipment. The GUI is also used to display item data that describes, defines, or identifies the items of interest. The item data may be provided by multiple information sources residing in different network security domains. The system combines item data governed by disparate security protocols in a manner that allows users having different security credentials to collaborate and share the information while still providing the required security and data protection.

  • Publication number: 20080222179
Abstract: In areas that require repetitive data collection and entry, an efficient way to reuse data that is already available in the system is proposed. This technique involves the reuse of data artifact fields, validation and categorization of data artifacts, and computerized filling in of “inheritable” data into reports such as aircraft maintenance reports.

  • Publication number: 20040267554
Abstract: Methods and systems for semi-automated job requisition are disclosed. In one embodiment, an inline interview including a set of job characteristics for a position to be filled is formed, and a set of employer rankings for the set of job characteristics is assigned. The inline interview is provided to one or more prospective job seekers. A set of job seeker rankings for the set of job characteristics is received from each of the one or more prospective job seekers. Then, a score is generated for each of the one or more prospective job seekers, including comparing the set of employer rankings with the set of job seeker rankings.
