  • Publication number: 20080261448
Abstract: An extension to USB includes an insulative tongue portion and a number of contacts held in the insulative tongue portion. The contacts have four conductive contacts and two pairs of differential contacts for transferring differential signals. The four conductive contacts consist of a power contact, a ground contact, a ? data contact and a + data contact. One pair of the differential contacts is located between the power contact and the ? data contact and the other pair of the differential contacts is located between the power contact and the + data contact. The four conductive contacts are for USB protocol and arrangement of the four conductive contacts with the insulative tongue portion is compatible to the standard USB connector. The two pairs of differential contacts are for non-USB protocol. The extension to USB is capable of mated with a commentary standard USB connector and a commentary extension to USB, alternatively.

  • Publication number: 20080227305
Abstract: An electrical connector (10) includes an elongated housing (100) having a daughter-card receiving channel (111) on a first surface (101) thereof and extending along a lengthwise direction for receiving a daughter-card member (30). Respective daughter-card engagement slots (113) are defined on opposed ends of the housing, each slot extending from the first surface and along a transverse direction. The slots are laterally separated from the receiving channel for receiving lateral edge portions of the daughter-card member. A central line of each slot is aligned with a central line of the receiving channel in the lengthwise direction such that configuration of the slots will allow for the daughter-card member to be held coplanar with respect to a middle plane of the channel, thereby establishing an effective electrical connection between the connector and the daughter-card member.

  • Patent number: 7390208
Abstract: A card connector assembly (100) for insertion of an electronic card (5), includes an insulative housing (1) defining therein a slot (11) and a number of passageways (131) communicating with the slot, and a number of terminals (2) retained in the passageways. Each terminal includes a contact portion (21) exposed in the slot for contacting with the electronic card, and a deformable resilient beam (22) having a depressible portion (221) away from the contact portion. The depressible portions are outwardly depressed due to an insertion of the electronic card, and are inwardly relaxed due to an extraction of the electronic card.

  • Patent number: 7214076
Abstract: A card connector comprises an housing defining a pair grooves and a receiving space with a first entrance opening; first and second sets of contacts retained in the insulating housing and exposed in the receiving space; a protection door moveably covering the first entrance opening for receiving a first card and defining a second entrance opening smaller than the first entrance opening therein for receiving a second card; a pivotal door associated with the protection door to moveably cover the second entrance opening; and a positioning member having a respective positioning portion exposed into the groove. When the second card is inserted in the second entrance opening, the positioning portion of the positioning member moves to one end of the corresponding groove to prevent the protection door from opening.
