  • Patent number: 3993637
Abstract: Disclosed are novel triazolylazo-N-alkyl(cycloalkyl)acylacetamide dye compounds which are colorless in solution but develop a yellow color when treated with ionic nickel such as nickel salts of organic acids or cobalt salts. This property is useful in conventional dyeing procedures and in reprographic processes wherein the dye compound is in hydrocarbon media when development of the color occurs.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 7, 1975
Date of Patent: November 23, 1976
    Assignee: Eastman Kodak Company
Inventors: James M. Straley, John G. Fisher
  • Patent number: 3951942
Abstract: Azo compounds especially useful for dyeing polyamide fibers on which the compounds exhibit improved fastness and dyeability properties contain a phenyl diazo component having a substituent in the 4-position and hydrogen, chlorine or bromine in the 2-position, and a tetramethyl substituted tetrahydroquinoline coupling component.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 21, 1974
Date of Patent: April 20, 1976
    Assignee: The University of Delaware
Inventors: Max A. Weaver, James M. Straley, Clarence A. Coates, Jr.
