  • Publication number: 20180354040
Abstract: A quick-release adaptor for a tool for a torque limiter is provided. The quick-release adaptor has a housing having a first opening at a first end and a second opening at a second end. The first opening engages a drive shaft of the torque limiter to axially and rotationally connect the drive shaft to the housing. The second opening receives the tool. A groove is provided on an exterior of the housing between the first end and the second end. At least one through hole extends through the groove and into an interior of the housing. A ball bearing is seated within the through hole. A spring clamp is provided in the groove and extends over the ball bearing to exert a radially inward force on the ball bearing to seat the tool.

  • Publication number: 20180297184
Abstract: A torque limiter assembly is provided and has a fixed torque member having a plurality of first retainers, a floating torque member having a plurality of second retainers, a plurality of torque transfer members between the first torque member and the floating torque member, and a shaft. A plurality of longitudinal transfer members are provided between the floating torque member and the shaft. The longitudinal transfer members rotationally fix the floating torque member to the shaft, but allow axial movement of the floating torque member. A spring member provides a force on the floating torque member to, at times, rotationally fix the floating torque member to the fixed torque member. A locking mechanism is used to adjust the force of the spring member on the floating torque member.

  • Publication number: 20160213492
Abstract: A prosthesis impactor assembly is provided having an impactor handle, an adaptor separate from the impactor handle, a connector rotatably secured within the adaptor, and a locking mechanism to lock the adaptor and connector to the impactor handle. The connector has a prosthesis connector member for connecting to the acetabular cup at one end, and a drive connector at an opposing end. The adaptor is received by a receiver of the impactor handle and is locked in place with the locking mechanism. The adaptor and impactor handle further have timing members to properly align the adaptor with respect to the impactor handle.

  • Patent number: 7055415
Abstract: A screwdriver having a handle and a scale for measuring torque transmitted to a screw and having a beam-type spring for transmitting the screwing torque. The handle and spring have a lost-motion connection therebetween, and there is limit stop in that connection. The handle is sealed against the entry of debris. The method of making the screwdriver is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6799480
Abstract: A screwdriver with a spring and a torque measuring scale and a limit stop, useful in the medical arts. A connector provides attachment to a workpiece tool and to a screw which, when fastened, non-rotatably holds the connector which in turn pilots a handle for the driving rotation of the screwdriver. The handle is short and the spring is a helical spring. A method of assembling the screwdriver is disclosed along with the embodiment disclosure.
