Abstract: A portable, self-contained beverage apparatus includes a container assembly having a known storage capacity for storing a consumable liquid, and a dispensing assembly disposed within the container assembly that dispenses variable, non-zero quantities of additives into the consumable liquid. The dispensing assembly includes multiple apertures structured and arranged to retain vessels containing the additives to be dispensed into the consumable liquid. The beverage apparatus also includes a level sensor disposed within the container assembly that determines a consumable liquid level of the consumable liquid stored in the container assembly. In certain embodiments, one or more positive displacement pumping mechanisms are configured to pump additive liquid from additive containers into a beverage chamber.

Abstract: A method, which comprises determining a logical identifier used for communication over a network portion managed by a service provider and transmitting to a computing apparatus adapted to effect online transactions involving a payer and a payee an indication of the service provider having agreed to act as the payer for at least one online transaction requested by a requesting device that uses the logical identifier. Also, a method, which comprises determining a logical identifier used to identify a device during a request for an online transaction; identifying, based on the logical identifier, a third party that has agreed to act as a payer for the online transaction; providing a user of the device with an opportunity to confirm the third party as the payer for the online transaction; and completing the online transaction based on input from the user.

Abstract: A drainage device, system, and method for draining moisture at a wall adjacent to and projecting from a floor is provided. An elongated body extends arcuately above the floor and is attached to the floor to define a channel between the elongated body and the floor for receiving moisture from proximate the wall at a rearward end of the elongated body. A barrier is proximate the wall and defines an opening to the wall adjacent to the floor that is dimensioned complementarily to the elongated body for receiving the elongated body therein. A rear flange at the rearward end is dimensioned to be captively received between the wall and a barrier via the opening for allowing the moisture between the barrier and the wall to drain into the channel via the rearward end. A sealant seals the rear flange to the barrier.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for frothing a beverage, e.g., using a beverage preparing device and an ejector is described. Within a housing of the beverage preparing device, an air supply and steam supply may be arranged to deliver air and steam to an ejector outside of the housing. Beverage liquid may be frothed by providing steam and air, then steam alone to achieve frothing and heating. An ejector may supply a mixture of steam and air and a controller may be used to regulate the flow of steam and air through the ejector. The ejector may have a venturi that uses steam flow to create a low pressure region, which draws air into the ejector.

Abstract: The presently disclosed subject matter is directed to an interactive board game. The game includes a game board, one or more base pieces, a plurality of playing pieces, and at least one chance device (e.g., playing dice). The base pieces are inserted and/or adhered into apertures formed in the playing board and thus are used as foundations to support the playing pieces. The object of the game is to stack playing pieces vertically on the base pieces to create a tower structure. The playing pieces are constructed in a variety of shapes and sizes, each with an assigned value, such that successful stacking rewards the player with points.

Abstract: Niclosamide is an effective therapeutic medicament for the treatment of endometriosis. Niclosamide treatment can reduce the size of endometriotic lesions and reduce cell proliferation in the lesions. Niclosamide treatment can result in the inhibition of proteins and genes associated with inflammatory signaling, including those associated with NF?B and STAT3 activation, but without altering the expression of steroid hormone receptors. Niclosamide can be effective in reducing the growth of endometriotic lesions in female mice without impairing their ability to become pregnant and without negative effect on gestation and offspring. The invention herein is useful in treating symptoms associated with endometriosis, such as reducing the growth of lesions of the endometrium, without disrupting normal reproductive function in females. The invention also relates to derivatives of niclosamide having improved solubility and enhanced efficacy.

When deployed, the two cables hold the barrier cart in place. The ratcheting system includes a release lever to disengage the two main-housing cables before stowage. The barrier cart includes a folding-barrier with elastic and polymer safety-hooks sewn in. When the curtain or net gets expanded, its safety-hooks attach to several female loops riveted into the upper portion of the forward galley entrance.

Abstract: The present technology provides techniques for predicting links on a web page and preloading content associated with predicted links. A method in accordance with the techniques includes retrieving a user-desired web page. The user desired web page includes one or more links. A predicted link is identified in the one or more links on the web page. The predicted link is identified based on a likelihood that the link will be selected by a user of the web browser. The likelihood is determined using a proximity metric that is one of a Euclidean distance from a current position of a touch gesture or mouse position to the link, or a constant velocity approximation of gesture trajectory. A popularity score associated with the one or more links on the user-desired webpage is identified and a web page associated with the predicted link is preloaded into a memory of the web browser.

Abstract: In accordance with aspects of the disclosure, a portable computing device may be configured as a universal remote control to wirelessly control one or more electronic devices in a control area. The portable computing device may be configured to transmit over a network to a remotely located network server, one or more queries for control commands for communicating with each electronic device in the control area via control signals. The one or more queries may identify each of the electronic devices. The portable computing device may be configured to receive over the network from the network server, command codes for the portable computing device to communicate with each of the electronic devices through the control commands via the control signals. The portable computing device may be configured to execute the received command codes to communicate with each of the electronic devices in the control area.

The discharge ports may be disposed about a periphery of the drain pan and may be directed towards the drain outlet to direct flushing fluid towards the drain outlet. The side wall may circumscribe a portion of the periphery of the drain pan and include a hollow passage and at least one fluid inlet. The fluid inlet may be in fluid communication with the hollow passage for delivering flushing fluid to the discharge ports.

Abstract: A self-cleaning flooring system for catching waste products has at least one module comprising a drain pan and a floor grid. The drain pan has a ramp and a central drain outlet. The ramp extends around the drain pan defining a drain pan periphery. The ramp slopes downward from the drain pan periphery towards the drain outlet. The drain pan periphery has a plurality of discharge ports spaced therealong for discharge of flushing fluid onto the ramp such that the waste products are washed down the ramp towards the drain outlet. The floor grid extends across the drain pan and is mounted upon the drain pan periphery for supporting personnel standing thereon while permitting waste products to pass therethrough.
